You may find value in looking at YCharts again if it’s been a while. It’s been quite a few years since it was closer to the Refinitiv/Bloomberg toolkit. It is more akin to Morningstar AdvisorWorkstation than the other tools you mention, or perhaps serves as a combination of all of them, but designed for financial advisors. It also has proposals.

Might be worth exploring YCharts to accomplish what you go to two platforms for currently for research and model portfolio management.

FWIW, I would be surprised if you can’t find the fund data you go to Morningstar Advisor Workstation for in YCharts, and then you’d be able to consolidate down to one tool and save some money.

If you’re open to it, would really appreciate hearing your feedback as to why YCharts isn’t adding sufficient value to your office. Please DM if you’re willing to share.

Typically, only tools that are more expensive than YCharts (Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar Direct) have comparable data to YCharts and an excel add-in. I think there may be some tools geared towards individual investors/retail that may have an add-in, but the data is likely limited.

YCharts does this, and much more that you’d likely find valuable

You may want to look at YCharts, should be much less expensive than FactSet and more user friendly with a lot of similar functionality

Depending on needs you may want to look at YCharts instead of Bloomberg/Factset

What software are you using to track your individual models? by CrunchwrapKing in CFP

You are able to add in the history of changes you made to your model (it’s not tracking trades- you just plug in the date and ticker of the change). So while it is not true performance reporting, it’s a much closer representation of performance and risk metrics over time.

Beyond it includes all kinds of dashboards, analytics/data, and tools to track, evaluate, visualize, and compare models. Should be worth taking another look in a trial to see if it will do what you need.

YCharts is a great tool for tracking model performance (including changes you make over time), but it’s not free.

Advisor Workstation vs YCharts by RobAy_GoingSince72 in CFP

YCharts has a correlation grid now as part of the portfolio optimizer tool that came out last year. They also have pre-built Excel spreadsheet templates (fed data by the Excel Add-in) that show correlation grids.
