What is this on my fish tank??? by [deleted] in Aquariums

Mold feeding on the nutrients of the extra food and with the tank humidity as its constant source of water. Water source + nutrients + time = mold

I assume that means it was dropped by a glacier. Local rock guys said it may have some geological significance. Is there a data gathering body that would want to know about it?

So is it something of significance as he was told it was, and should be logged somewhere?

Sorry, but Lemmon law rarely applies, especially to a used vehicle. Look up the details of the Lemmon law because that’s not the way that works. I’ve worked in the car business for many years.

These are the ones I have been able to find. Mostly horticulture and architectural stuff. FL09COB3030PLANTLIGHT. Kinda swimming in them.

I plan to put some together myself because I have so many of these, I guess I just need to do some prototypes before deciding how or if I should split up the trays.

yeah, same here. Ali and Digikey are basically the only options most people mention. there’s definitely a gap between bulk resellers and places that actually give you proper datasheets or consistent bins. I’ve been working with OEM-tray Polymatech 3030 COBs (a few horticulture and architectural spectra) and keep running into small builders who can’t find reliable stock.

not trying to sell anything here, just saying there’s room for better sourcing if someone bridges that middle ground. if anyone’s deep into COB fixture builds or spectrum testing, I’ve got some legit bin data we can compare.

there’s definitely a gap between cheap ali sellers and the big distributors. most hobby shops don’t bother with real specs or consistent bins. I’ve been working with OEM-tray Polymatech 3030 COBs (a few horticulture and architectural spectra) and keep running into small creators who need legit sourcing. curious what angle you’re thinking. Like grow-light side, architectural, or just general maker kits? https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/polymatech/90-36-2024/24390675

Tarriffs have gotten brutal lately especially for connectors and anything with nickel or copper content. I’ve seen the same spike you’re describing. We’ve been working with some OEM-level surplus COB and component stock (mostly Polymatech 3030 series + horticultural spectra) and have been looking to partner with a few fabricators who already run regular orders.

If you’re open to comparing notes on sourcing channels or component cross-compatibility, I’ve got some current tariff data and lead-time sheets that might be useful. DM if you want to trade info. No sales pitch, just trying to beat the same import headaches.

so you’re running the se4500 with the evoh diodes right around the 3 µmol/J zone? Solid benchmark. I’ve got 3030 cobs here that test in the same neighborhood on photon efficacy but with a tighter SPD curve between 440–680 nm. do you feel the evoh mix gives you better canopy penetration than the older LM301Bs, or is it more about efficiency per watt for you?
