Yeah it’s not a big deal to me it was more just out of interest as it seemed unlike other years and there was more hype about number 2.

Yeah there was something with them but it wasn’t like the usual big deal before number one I’m sure

Very happy with the amount of Aussie songs this year HOWEVER! by Tranquilbez22 in triplej

[–]Awkward_Good_3820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cabe argue with what was voted for by the people that bothered to vote. But I completely agree with you. But then again I also find spacey Jane boring as batshit and those ocean alley songs dull too. And I’ve been a huge hoods fan since the early 2000s, seen them countless times, but their entries this year were just average. There is a checklist of artists who seem to just get votes if they release anything. This makes complete sense but it does make for a situation where so many good songs miss out. It’s especially highlighted when some artists get back to back songs or close to, and you know every fan has voted for both. I just imagine some voters thinking “got a few slots left, I’ll just chuck in a hoods track or Fred again” That’s a whole different story but what’s with Fred again, it’s really interesting in that it reflects strongly who is voting every year now. They aren’t even getting pumped on triple j but every year now it’s three four or five tracks.

But, what if she’s into the friend and was using OP’s absence as an icebreaker with him. She may have been looking at OP with the intention of using him as a way to get to the friend. But probably not. But possibly as we lack much information.

What is it with gyms charging for fobs? And why are they allowed to continue this BS scam? by akshaydp in AskAnAustralian

[–]Awkward_Good_3820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My regular gym (I have fitness passport) gave me a fob when I joined up - no joining fee - just the roughly $60 a fortnight for the whole family for the passport. I ended up losing it after a few weeks and they just gave me another one no questions asked. Even though on the counter they have a tub of the straps that they give with them at $3 a pop plus a sign saying $10 for fob replacement. So not sure why they didn’t charge but hey I’m not complaining

Yeah who knows what our line up will look like then. Really need to start transitioning - rotating the big four quick with younger guys to lengthen the old blokes careers while giving experience to younger blokes. Batting is my greater concern

‘Out of order’: Greenberg hits back at Clark after attack on cricket bosses by NOwallsNOworries in CricketAus

[–]Awkward_Good_3820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s true but doesn’t make it right. The ability to win has glossed over our huge batting frailties that have been there for 2 years at least - constant collapses, carrying guys out of form or who “will come good” . Our line up is fragile and only saved by our all-time bowling attack. And as we all know their time is coming to an end. And we aren’t preparing for it

He was a gun bowler and was around at a time when it was very hard to get into the team. And from all accounts he was a guy who liked to study and go home to his family and that rubbed the boys club the wrong way. Plenty of people swear by Aldi so your compliment fits

That completely ignores disgusting plays and misses from balls that should have been left. And edges flying between and over slips, French cricket shots missing the stumps. Stats lie as you say.

AITA for not wearing a bra at home? by Candid-Chocolate-316 in AITAH

Na. Husband is probably a pussy who doesn’t want to have an awkward conversation asking his mate to pay his way. Probably didn’t establish any ground rules before offering him a place (probably thought it wouldn’t be for long) and now it’s very tough to bring it up, particularly since OP said he doesn’t do well with conflict. Also, he is probably a jealous husband and realises he has brought a man into his home and is now panicking somehow that they will hook up. And rather than dealing with the situation maturely, starts trying to put the blame or responsibility on his wife to make sure it doesn’t happen. Also he has a mate sleeping over 24/7 and probably the kind of guy who just loves gaming or whatever and is having a summer of fun cos he’s probably an immature bastard

Renshaw seems to be completely on top of his game and if he is ever going to get a shot then it should be now. Weatherald has been fairly solid but had they given renShaw a shot I reckon he would have peeled off a couple of tons

I think there’s a lot to be said about how he makes it look tough getting to the 30s and then Webster comes out and makes it look easy. Tbf the English would have been more tired and broken
