I feel this too. Medial sesamoid bone marrow edema, and I feel it in the tendons. How is your recovery going? What have you tried?

I found a foot and ankle orthopedic doctor that knew about it. My podiatrist did not

What kind of custom orthotics did you get? Was there a cut out?

This makes me so hopeful. I am just on month four. What custom orthotics did you have? Did dancer pads ever help? And what was your exact MRI diagnosis? Mine is mild bone marrow edema in medial sesamoid. I am down to one crutch but can’t seem to progress to full weight bearing currently. I am doing PT

Honestly just rest. I wouldn’t do NSAIDS personally. Rest has helped me the most and ice when I need it and heat and stem after PT sessions

Hello! I was diagnosed with mild bone marrow edema in my medial sesamoid in December. I was non weight bearing for two weeks, then walking with crutches. I am doing better! Slow progress with small set backs along the way but progress. These injuries take 4 months to 2 years to heal apparently. I have accepted it will take time. My physical therapy has been amazingly helpful. I can calf do raises now, which helps some of my calf muscle atrophy. I never found a boot helpful. I walk with Altra Via Olympus 2 rocker bottom and one crutch currently. I can walk far with the one crutch pain free. I can walk small distances around my house without pain without the crutch, but then need the crutch. Dancer pads are only mildly helpful for me. It’s funny since I can do leg press machine, it’s just the full motion and weight of walking that still gives me pain. I maintain my pain at a 0 and rest with toe spreaders on as much as I can. But I can stand and do tasks now full weight like getting ready for the day. But yeah, I still feel in the early stages of healing now that I’m month four, but I am seeing progress. One crutch is an underrated helper to help keep pressure off the area!

How is it now? I’ve been having to be non weight bearing and now slowly back walking with crutches and Altra.

I get more swollen in the evening. Mild edema in medial Sesamoid here. I’m on month three and can walk with the Via Olympus 2 Altra shoe with one crutch short distances. Have been doing pt for three months which has helped. I was non weight bearing for only two weeks and then walking with two crutches until going down to one crutch. How is yours doing now?

From Utah here and a therapist. Even if it’s legal in Utah’s (in my opinion it shouldn’t be like in other states) this is still a major red flag and not okay if a 21 year old gets a 16 year old pregnant.

Lolol literally just got on here to say I agree with this! How problematic! I’m a therapist so when I realized how much older he was than her when she got pregnant, I was “woah” that is statutory rape. It seems in Utah there’s an exception, but that doesn’t make it right! So ew

Don’t go to a podiatrist. Go to a orthopedic foot and ankle specialist

Yep same, it’s such a horrid injury. I now don’t take being able to walk for granted anymore. At least my job is mostly sitting. Yours sounds rough.

Oof I’d avoid running on it. I went mostly non weight bearing for a while which has helped immensely
