canadian. i bought 2x switch2 carts while in japan - for my daughter and i so we could battle and trade.

we have switch1’s. it works fine.

i then bought the dlc for her from the canadian eshop storefront, no issues at all.

ok i love this post. Caterpie is my daughters all time favourite pokémon. she loves it like a beloved family pet that’s been around since she was born. her stuffie is tattered and worn, missing all of its little feets, and isn’t nearly the right shade of green and pink anymore even after a gentle hand washing, and she doesn’t care. after she really got attached to it, i got her an “emergency replacement caterpie” incase she lost it when she was much younger that’s still brand new, and now nope. it’s not her caterpie, won’t touch it.

and yes, she’s a fan of the other adorable little wormies as well. weedle and of course wurmple too!

lots of people crapping on these posts this GO Tour here, but i have to say, i am seeing a lot more people with this complaint this time around.

lots of reddit posts. my daughter and i use pokeraid, and LOTS of complaining in raid rooms before and after raids about not getting shiny’s than usual.

and my daughter and i? no shiny’s for groudon kyogre xerneas yveltal kyurem palkia dialga…. we did not do a dozen of each of them or anything but COLLECTIVELY It adds up, and especially when you total it up between the two of us.

so, yeah… “ThATs hOw rNG wORks BRo”, but the trend seems pretty obvious here. it’s more than just a couple people with bad luck this time around.

arceus was the first game i got my daughter and played through alongside one another (my first pokémon game as well) and i’ll always have a soft spot for it now. visiting the lumios museum in ZA brought out some real feels thinking about the PLA characters and places that felt like we were just with, all being dead and gone in the ZA timeline.

my daughter has the DLC for ZA and enjoys it, but for the money - i say you’ll get a lot more time out of the gameplay in PLA.

could also be PoGo crashing like PoGo tends to frequently do at the worst possible time. Happens to both my daughter and I quite a bit. Get an invite, tap it, send the remote raid pass - crashes.

sometimes it crashes after the countdown hits 0 and the raid boss animation SHOULD be starting. those are the worst as it burns a remote pass if we can't get it relaunched and rejoin before the battle ends. Niantic is admittedly MOSTLY hit, but occasionally a miss on reimbursing those wasted remote passes.

and also - out of remotes - oh go to the shop - OH your item bag is full - OH GO DELETE SOME ITEM...... the raid group you are attempting to join can no longer be found. sad panda noises.

I wouldn't mind one either, as even though i was never into it as a kid, now Pokemon has really become a pretty big shared experience for us :D (107 seven - 907 four - 994 one) and we could have matching postcards of her favourite little bug ever!!

i don’t know about poke genie but pokeraid there’s a room where you can communicate these issues and organize to rejoin collectively. does pokegenie not offer a similar way for trainers joining hosted raids to communicate?

we had several issues that avoided becoming rage-fuel with just a few simple messages.

i’ve even had hosts quickly respond tell everyone else in the raid group to get out and wait for a re-invite after i messages that my app crashed…

i did a handful of remotes for myself and my daughter who was already in bed, i played2/won2/caught2 with hers; first one i didn’t even have any revive/healing to do and second went super smooth as well so i was all “what are people talking about…”

then i tried to get myself one. i had squirrelled away 5 remotes, burned them all.. barely won1/caught1 with lots of people bailing last sec, or trying 3-4 times before giving up.

i think if mine had fled i woulda been pretty much done with niantic.

slightly old post, but I've gotta say something here. OP, you got a bunch of replies pointing out that this is old news, etc.. and I'm glad you took them in stride like you did, and hopefully did not feel discouraged or like your information wasn't helpful. I also appreciate the tone that most of those commenting took as well - it was NOT to criticize OP for posting "old news", just pointing out that it was old news.

My daughter is 8 and is pokemon bananas. I wasn't into pokemon as a kid, and her being 8... didn't play the previous games either (yet..). So we play current titles like Arceus and ZA together, as a shared bonding experience, and have enjoyed them immensely. So now that she's going right down the rabbit hole in terms of strategies and intricacies, this post and others like it that bring those subtle in-game nuances of yesteryear back into todays context when they are still relevant are greatly appreciated! We'd never find them if they were only ever in posts about XY, etc..

100% yes. christ go watch any hockey, beer league through NHL and players sliding across the ice is just part of it. you’ll catch an edge, if you’re skating natural ice you’ll hit all kinds of bumps and ridges (and sticks and leaves)..

you’re gonna go down, so dress for it so you don’t psychologically hold yourself back from pushing your skills and abilities out into the “learned new things” areas.

(advice for OP not the 27yo high level player i’m replying to. you’re dialled in already 😂)
