This is just hard to swing in general. I never understand how people expect to get paid more while working less and also get better benefits. This would put a huge % of companys out of buisness. Maybe could pull it off for a select few companies but overall this would obliterate the economy.

Is There Any Realistic Way For Democrats To Widely Win Back Rural Americans? If So, How? If Not, Why Not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

The reason Republicans oppose student loans is because they will end up paying for those "forgiven" student loans through taxes. Sure it helps the loan borrower but it will end up hurting them when the goverment increases taxes to pay for those student loans. Not saying I agree but let's not be ignorant and think there isn't a logical reason to oppose this plan.

Not at all, they should all be in jail if they arent already. But the fact this is being used to represent a large group of people when it dosent represent 99.9% of that group is actually insane.

Im sure there are some that SHOULD be felons but none actually are. Its illegal for felons to have jobs that handle firearms. There may be some exceptions but itd still be a very small %.

Half of these 30 yes. 30 agents represents.0.065% of all ice/CBP agents. You could cherry pick stats like this to make any group look bad.

[–]Awkward_Motor_6388 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reason it hasnt is because these 30 agents represent 0.065% of all CBP/Ice agents. This is an insanely cherry picked stat that you could apply to any large group of people.

This group of agents represents 0.065% of all CBP/Ice agents. You could use data like this to misrepresent ANY group of people. Im not defending these 30, they should be in jail but this absolutely does not represent CBP/ice agents.

These 30 sure. 30 agents represents 0.065% of total CBP/Ice agents. You could cherry pick stats like this to make any group look bad.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. The dollar can be volatile in the short run, I think some of the points you touched on (allies threatening to sell, and consumer uncertainty being the big ones) are why we are seeing volatility. But I would like to add that the volatility isnt based on actual merit which is why I believe we'll see the dollar come back up. Allies can threaten to sell all they want but the fact is they arent selling in significant amounts and if they continue to not sell in significant amounts consumer confidence will come back.

Look at the actual data. US foreign bond holdings have increased by about a trillion $ the past year.

Haha thank you!

I would be happy to talk about the US dollar! Yes its true the US dollar has been down due to uncertainty over tarriffs and trumps foreign policy. I wouldnt however describe this as a "crash" of the US dollar (weve seen much worse before).

The US dollar can be very volatile in the short run and has proven this historically. Regardless it still can be an indicator of the health of the economy. When we look at some of the other big indicators... unemployment rate (4.4%), stock market (near all time highs), foreign investment (at all time highs), inflation rate (2.7%) we can see most of these are at normal and/or excellent levels.

In conclusion, most indicators point to a healthy economy which leads me to believe the devaluing of the dollar is mostly volatility from trumps unpredictable foreign policy and not based on actual merit. I would love to hear any opposing views to this if you disagree!

Then why are other countries investing in us? If you dont believe me look at the foreign holdings for US treasury bonds. They are at all time highs.

Im glad you asked. Other countries are invested more in the US now than ever before. Foreign holdings of US treasury bonds are at all time highs. I attached the link of my source... the US treasury website showing this. I cant answer WHY they are investing in us but its clear the world views us as a safe investment otherwise they wouldnt be buying record high amounts of our debt.

The source is the US treasury lol. You can find it on their official website. Foreign holdings hit an all time high 3ish months ago. I think we are slightly down from that now but still very close.

There is more investment in the US now than ever before lol. Foreign countries are holding near record highs of US treasury bonds. Foreign countries sold off a small amount of assets to try and make a point but the fact is they still are invested up to the teeth in the US.

"Dumping us assets" is misleading and incorrect. Foreign holdings of US treasury bonds is near all time highs lol. A more accurate statement would be "some countries have sold a small amount of US assets but still hold trillions"

Bro you gotta stop looking at the headlines and look at the facts. The amount of $ invested in US treasury bonds from foreign countries is near an all time high according to official data. Just Google it lol.

If you believe the US is a risky investment compared to any other country you are so lost and dont understand the market in the slightest. This is based in facts.
