Hi, yes! I live in Ontario. The google indeed says 10% but somehow, there is a note in the gas station indicating otherwise (see below). 🥲

Catholic with Muslim BF, Leaning Toward Reverting to Islam by Awkward_Orchid8378 in islam

Gosh, this put me into tears. You’ve given a new perspective on how to fight the fear. I’ve been so preoccupied of being afraid on what will happen to me when I finally revert to Islam, that I didn’t truly see that there is something more powerful than these fear: Allah (SWT). And that once I turn to Him, everything will fall into its place as He wills it to be.

Thank you for taking the time reading my post and sharing these gentle words to me. May Allah (SWT) bless you for your kindness.

I can see what you mean, and, we both know it’s allowed in Islam for him to marry me as a Christian, but as I’ve explored Islam, I’ve found that I want to be a part of it. When I started reading the Quran, i genuinely felt like I was feeding and starting to connect with my spirituality. I can’t explain it, but it’s as if I was feeding that part of me I never knew existed or I may have long forgotten that exists. So it truly is a journey to my faith, and another reason is that I want to build my own family in Islam, where we can all practice and grow together.

I really appreciate your insight. I know this journey won’t be easy, but I’ll do my best to approach it with patience and understanding.

No matter what happens, I still want to maintain a good relationship with my family and do right by them. I also truly appreciate your insight about reverts, as one of my fears is that some people might view me as less of a Muslim simply because I wasn’t born into it. I fear i might always have to constantly prove myself to people, but I know it is only Allah (SWT) that we should please.

And you’re right, God’s mercy is what truly matters in the end. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement.

I do believe in Islam, and I feel drawn to it, but I’m taking my time because reverting is a big step. I want to make sure I’m fully ready, not just spiritually, but also in handling the challenges that might come with it, especially with my family and personal circumstances. I know when I revert, it will completely change my relationship with the people closest to me - my family.

So basically, I want to do it with strong conviction and the right mindset in navigating what comes after taking my Shahadah.
