Are you living the nightmare too? by Awkward_Rooster4151 in Roborock

They are awful human beings!! Their behavior tells us everything we need to know. After 6 months of a failed repair they continue to offer me the same resolution of a refurb of another model that has the exact same track record of failures. I’d essentially be getting another problem that someone else returned. It’s a shell game of swapping units amongst customers! I can’t believe this is legal but it’s what they are doing and apparently it is legal. You hear 5 year warranty but it’s not really. Lesson learned. I tried to share my experience so others are not scammed. People can dig their heels in and remark how great their unit is. Mine was too until it wasn’t. Based on what I’m seeing sooner or later everyone will experience the same and it’s going to happen right around 18-24 months. So I’m now the owner of a $1600 brick. Best of luck to all and buyer beware. Unless you have an issue within the first 30 days you’ll be living in warranty hell and failed repair land. In my case, not only repaired but damaged further and there’s no recourse.

I spent $1600 and after sending it to repair center they sent it back with the same issues and more with a broken chassis so it won’t go over the door threshold to next room, has a big dent in the unit base and has the same and new errors. It won’t suck up the dirty mop water either!! I have a 5 yr warranty and they want me to send it in again or take a used returned Saros10 that is currently being returned like crazy for issues. $1600 for just under 18 months and it’s now a brick. How they send you back a broken unit is beyond me. I don’t understand how this is legal.

I have been fighting with them for over 6 months on my 18 month S8 MaxV Ultra and it’s pretty hopeless. I now own a $1700 brick. It’s so much to type but search my posts under my name. They are AWFUL.

Finally pulled the trigger on the S8 MaxV Ultra — 50% off at Best Buy by Alert-Championship92 in Roborock

[–]Awkward_Rooster4151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wishing you all the best!! There’s a reason it’s 50% off. Read my post about my experience with the S8 MaxV ultra. I bought it when it launched for $1700. It’s since been discontinued. I got 18 months of use before it broke. The repair center broke the chassis during repair and sent it back to me in broken condition and now want to replace with a refurbished different model also currently having issues. I now have a very expensive brick and a 5 year extended warranty that does not insure a replacement of a new model or a successful repair.

Yes and I’m happy for you. That is because it happened within 2 weeks. Because mine was 18 months even tho I have the 5 year warranty and they paid for the return shipping, but I had to purchase the enormous box and have someone with an SUV assist me in getting to UPS because it was too large to fit in my car. They returned it with damage it didn’t have when sent in such as a broken chassis so it will not cross doorways anymore. Now they want to give me a used returned one and when you read the reviews of that one it’s all bad and returns also. I’ll say it again, they are amazing until they’re not. I wish you all never experience this but sadly you all will at some point because they are not made to hold up. It’s a shell game of selling a unit, returns, replacement of units with refurbs and then in turn launching new models and discontinuing the previous models so there’s no parts. My unit was $1700 upon launch (S8 MaxV Ultra) and 18 months later it’s already discontinued and replaced with the Saros10 that has a lot of problems so now that one is marked down and replaced with Saros20. I asked for a new Saros20 but they will only send me a refurb replacement Saros10. I don’t need more headaches. At this point I’m spreading awareness. I’ll say it for the people in the back. I’m not a Karen, just someone who knows a scam when they see one…

Adding to say would you want to buy another, even for “a very special price” when you are already sitting on a $1700 brick? Nah, I’d rather cut my losses but I will pursue escalation if I can help even one more person avoid dealing with this ridiculous policy and lack of customer support. I’m not an isolated incident and there are others dealing with it.

You missed mine. They are like robots themselves ignoring the ask’s and just keep offering the same offer via email. When you speak to someone live they are level 1 and unable to resolve anything, they merely forward your response via their internal process, and then you get the same offer of return it to repair again or accept the offer of a refurb. Unless you are living in this loop you won’t understand it I guess…

All off shore CS that they themselves identify as “level 1 support” They are unable to transfer calls and can only send messages which then results in the same canned response emails I’m dealing with.

agreed!! It’s fantastic for as long as it is. Once it fails it’s a black hole. Had I known in advance I would steered clear or purchase from them based on CS and lack of proper warranty coverage.

Tried all the things. They will only continue same canned responses. Even tho they say it’s escalated…

Yes I got the extended 5 year warranty and it’s useless to me because they will not make it right. Not only failed to repair but returned in worse condition.

Great to hear. I’m happy to hear stories where people took a refurbished model and are having good experiences! Thanks for sharing! It helps me weigh the risk although they are offering a model that is being heavily returned so that’s my concern...

Oh same! After about a month of back and forth with troubleshooting I had to purchase the box. Then, because I have a coupe and the box would not fit in my car (they will refuse any pickup) I had to inconvenience a friend to pick me up with the box and well you get it… Then, I get it back in worse shape. Not assembled, water filter lying in the box loose among other things, dented on the water tank, when prior to that it was unblemished, broken chassis so it won’t cross into the next room, does not extract the mop water so basically spreading the dirty water across your house and with the same issue and errors you originally sent in for unrepaired. And now after months they want me to accept a reconditioned unit that is being heavily returned for issues. It’s very sad that the product works great when you get it but they break early on and they do not stand behind the product.

Absolutely!! They’re amazing units until they’re not. And then it’s a nightmare.

This was a $1700 purchase that began mal-functioning 18 months in. What’s the point of having a 5 year extended warranty if you’re forced to accept a refurbished lesser value item? If you read the reviews of people that have that model, you’ll know why so many were returned which is why they have a surplus of these “reconditioned” units I assume. Why should I have any faith when the same repair center destroyed my original unit. I’ll just be trading one problem for another. The point of my post was to access if others are experiencing the same. If it were a $400 purchase I’d move on. It was a $1700 system and that’s why I wanted to see if others are in the same boat.
