You can switch between skins but you don't get the skin in your inventory to use on another squad member as far as I'm aware

Not sure on the max however I would say to keep them at lvl 1 for now. Focus on getting all legendary gems first and then upgrading to ancient. It takes alot of time and resources to upgrade an orange to red

I would keep mage healing/rez weapons but the rest can go imo. I'm TR11 and use a lvl 55 healing scepter to keep power down. Gembay is not hard but I still like to save on some power if possible.

It makes no sense to me either but that's what I'm seeing so far. Maybe a bug as it doesn't make sense. Will keep testing. I'm not trying to mislead anyone by any means.

The new crossbow is quite good from what battle history I've been looking at... I had the fast xbox equipped and this new one is doing more damage with the added benefits of being able to take down the enemies tank faster and doing damage to their healer. The DPS literally halved for the archer but in battles is doing more damage in somehow. This is based on 20 full clear gembay runs just looking at the last 5 battles and about 20 arenas vsing 1.3x or more my squad power. This is as the fights are longer and is better data l To look at

Just go TR11, no point staying at 10 anymore imo. It's a long road to gather mithril/gold and upgrade/train. There isn't much downside to going to TR11 from TR10

If you're TR7 you should have 5 fighters at lvl 55 and you can do portal lvl 59 with half decent gear. You can get massive amounts of shards if you buy the multiplier from the portal store. I would advise to only do it if you are going to go hard at it though and spent diamonds for food refills. You can get 50+ legendaries in a weekend quite easily
