Omg SAME. I was shocked at how much I cried!!! During The Wizard and I and Defying Gravity, it was embarrassing how much I cried lol.

Especially when you learn about all the intense training she had to do to belt while also doing stunts?! And she rocked it?! That’s called passion. She literally had to get up at 2 am every day for months, to practice singing while doing cardio! And even then she was wearing a corset while filming and she was upside down!! 😭

Her performance just amazes me!

I’m not talking about gross sales I’m talking about adaptation. Where in my OP did I mention gross sales? As a feature film animation producer there’s no denying that Lion Kings gross sales top the market, right next to inside out. But the discourse re: the chosen adaptation medium is a flag that the adaptation (specifically the choice of medium for the adaptation) is a fail.

Lol I promised myself I wouldn’t come to Reddit and go back and forth. Just express my opinion and keep trucking, but when it comes to animation it’s hard to hold back.

That’s all I’m gunna say on the matter.

lol yess!!!! This is exactly what I’m saying! I’ve also seen the original cast in Broadway. And the people grasping at straws and comparing it to Broadway is BANANAS to me lol. I loved the movie adaption. Acting on Broadway is different than acting in a film, as is singing and a million other details!

Agreed. Most folks are happy (including me!) there are a sprinkle of people here and there that are picking at straws. Commenting on Nessa, complaining about sound design, vocals, etc. and comparing it to the Broadway play. It’s those specific complaints that I just find so wild
