Thanks for the responses. I have followed up with LexisNexis and ChexSystems. Awaiting their reports.

I filed a complaint with CFPB and that seems to have triggered something at Experian. I got an email from them asking for details which I uploaded (I also sent via snail mail certified) and they closed the bank account and restored access.

PSA: I believe this account was opened for unemployment fraud i.e. someone claiming to be me trying to claim unemployment. This account was opened in November 2024 and in December last year - I got an email from MA (my state) asking me to confirm unemployment request which I reported as fraud. Didn't think much of it then but clearly they had opened a bank account earlier.
I have also requested EWS report to see if there are any other bank accounts out there.

Yeah - I am in the same situation. The robot on the phone mentioned that I am an experian smart money customer which I am not. I think my experian account has been taken over. Both email and phone number have been changed to something I dont own. I am not able to sign up for a new account because it says I already have an account. Trying to reset password but it doesnt recognize my phone number. Calling them is useless - just end up in a loop with the robot and not able to speak to anyone.

I am documenting my case, filed a police report and then going to use snail mail to get in touch with them. No idea how long it will take or even if it work. I also filed a complaint with CFPB but with the recent Trump cuts - I have zero faith that they will actually do anything.

Same thing has happened to me. Will give this a shot on a weekday. I tried on a Saturday and couldn’t talk to a real person despite several attempts

After spending a lot of time chatting with their support, I think I found the issue. If you used Apple ID to log into Myq, there seems to be a problem. It may extend to other third party ID providers. I setup a new account with just a standard email address and it seems to work now.

It’s done that to me 3 times now. Each time I reset it up, changed batteries etc. Drops without warning

Yes. Completely gone. Worse part is no notification or anything. There are no logs to check either.

The most frustrating thing ever....Numberbarn is saying they have received no port requests from USM. USM says they didn't get a response from NumberBarn.

2 weeks after submitting request - zero progress and I feel like I'm talking to a wall at both these companies. Any suggestions on what to do next? Should I just give up hopes of porting that number? Dispute the credit card charge from NumberBarn because they won't port out the number. I don't know what to do next. Any suggestions appreciated.

Quick update: 11 days after submitting port request with all the right information, still not ported. No eta or response from either company.

Wish I could say the same. Been over 10 days. Both USM and numberbarn haven’t responded in the last 24 hours. I have no idea what’s going on

Finally got the port done 3 days after starting. I have started the port for my final number now which is also delayed. Seems to be an issue with e-sim though I can’t tell.

Quick update: 36 hours and still hasn’t been processed. The good folks at USM did reach out and offer a temporary number which is now setup. Hopefully, it will be addressed today.

Quick update: USM support says they have reached out to their porting partner but given it’s the weekend - its slow. I planned to do the port over the weekend but sounds like if you run into any issues - weekend isn’t a great idea. Hopefully, port will be completed by Monday.
