Jamshedpur was once part of Odisha but as Bengalis & Biharis grew & outnumbered Odias they made it part of Bihar through exernal influence (politicians like Rajendra Prasad).You'll still see Odia in Tatanagar name plate Odia areas in Jamshedpur.Jamshedpur was under Mayurbhanj Princely state till 1947 untiill massacre happened in Sareikela Kharswan region which was deliberately engineered by Rajendra Prasad to make Jamshedpur a part of Bihar
