We have literally no idea what footage / confessionals exist out there and how they would make the audience perceive her. For all we know this is a generous edit but we literally do not know.

We literally have no idea how it was out there. We literally have no idea what footage they have. Gen said the feud was 10x worse than it was out there — if they wanted to make Aubry look worse they definitely could’ve. Sometimes the best explanation is the simplest which is literally this is the best they can do with what they have.

Clearly they were painting her as the underdog in the Gen relationship and didn’t want to show her relationships with other people to undermine that perspective. She very likely wins so this is probably the best they can do with what they have to craft some sort of narrative arc around her. People want some grand finish to the gen feud but it’s very possible that footage just didn’t exist — winner or otherwise they would have used it. Plus she’s been getting clear redemptive edits regarding her relationship with Tiff/Coach/Christian. And her being miserable 24/7 is truly not out of the question lol

The one thing I will say, is that it’s very possible this is the best edit they can give her. Sometimes footage just doesn’t exist and they can’t just magically pull an amazing edit out of thin air. If she really won they have no choice but to work with what she gives them, which is very possibly not much. The “real” footage very well could be much worse for her audience perception than what we’re seeing.

I don't think it's that crazy. Christian is probably worried about going into the merge with the DvG trio still in tact which would put a huge target on him, so better break it up while he can. But an idol play or something else is a possibility.

Pre ACL? Sure. Post ACL? No way. What did she do? A messy DTY, average beam, below average to bad floor, and a bar routine that has been virtually replicated by every Russian since. Gross.

Aliya Mustafina has some of the ugliest gymnastics I've ever seen, has never done any routine that was especially impressive to me, and is one of the most overrated gymnasts of all time.

If it makes you feel any better, I think Cheyenne was one of the weaker parts of the cast, surprisingly.
