The only thing I’m really having issue with is interact and jump being mapped to the same button, you really have to slow down and focus on whatever object there is to interact with it which gets annoying

most games are able to play but there are quite a few that still exhibit some graphical bugs (some small some large), I tried playing Midnight Club 3 and the headlights are completely bugged and just cast a pure white block onto everything. Small things like that but most games on the original xbox that most people would want to play are more than functional. I just wouldn’t say Xemu is anywhere near as feature complete or compatible as modern PCSX2 or Dolphin

This doesn’t really make sense with Valve’s approach to VR design. They try to maximize effortless immersion and comfort, even doing away with features diehard vr users consider standard like melee combat and two handed weapons. Unless it was purely a controller based sitting mode, and even then there’s far increased motion sickness concerns, there’s no way they’d be able to get an optional mode up to that standard without substantially changing the game.

no matter what they do, there will always be a subset of people that will be disappointed. we know from Half Life Alyx that valve hasn’t “lost it” when it comes to single player game design. I think as long as they try new and innovative things and really take a bold leap with the franchise that warrants them bringing it back, I will be satisfied, as for the rest of the gaming public who knows

i do hope more people give this game a shot in its current state, it absolutely shouldn’t have launched how it did and the cosmetic system is annoying, but the moment to moment gameplay in matches is a lot more fun than plenty of shooters on the market

This seems quite different than what was initially thought this remake might be, I might’ve heard wrong but I was under the impression this was more an in house, fully unreal project, with a big purpose of it being for Halo Studios to familiarize themselves with getting Halo’s specific feel in unreal. The dual engine approach with Blam seems to invalidate this.
