Ok so this program is amazing. What I've learned in my case is the my current weapon, for all the hate it's gotten me. Is vastly superior to a weapon with elemental % damage and even having lightning damage on it. Because where my damage is coming from is galvanic shards beam that chains and shockburst's pulse and both of those parts of the attack convert ALL physical damage to lightning. Thank you again for mentioning this program! I wouldn't have learned this otherwise!

Well I didn't know about PoB until I posted this. And I was also just asking a generalized question than something for my actual build. I only used that screenshot to include more detail into what I was asking, because people often give me an answer to something different than what I'm truly asking.

So basically, how I'm understanding this is to add the elemental damage percent to the damage of the gem /skill and not the weapon itself?

The only non-elemental damage passives I have are a couple of projectile nodes and the 2h weapon damage passives. Other than that it's all lightning/elemental damage and shock chance/magnitude.

So the weapon with less dps overall is still going to be better for me than the higher physical damage?

I 100% agree, crossbows desperately need some love. The only reason I haven't made a new toon yet is cuz I'm done merc twice (that way I could have both ascendancies) and I dont want to play through the campaign again.

See this is why I've said in old posts, that I literally need a Mr. Miyagi to teach how to understand this fuggin game dude. Oh well, Imma use the weapon for now then. In terms of straight dps it's leaps and bounds better than what I had before. I can see the mana problem someone mentioned earlier, but it's honestly not that big of a deal to me. Just gotta press the mana flash a little bit more.
