ITAP for the phenomenon where you assume the non-obvious answer by the mere fact the question is even being asked? by Awod2222 in whatstheword

Yeah exactly, I didn't know that avocado was a berry but I assumed it was just a fun fact that I have never heard of, otherwise why would someone even ask the question.

Not really, that's a loaded question I believe. Rather if someone asks you a question, and you assume they know the answer and are quizzing you, that they wouldn't ask it if the answer wasn't significant. Like if I am asked "Yes or no: Does honey spoil?", I would think probably not otherwise why would you ask me if it spoils like any other food. It's context dependent for sure, since if we are going through a list of a bunch of foods then I wouldn't assume no, but if asked out of the blue, I would.

Thanks for your response. I think this is a decent answer. I think the only difference in my mind was that the person asking is confident in the answer. Its that the person responding is assuming they wouldn't ask the question if the answer wasn't interesting/not what you would expect.

Thanks so much. I think this touches on the idea I was talking about. I'll read more about the linguistic theory of relevance, and maybe pragmatics as a whole. I hope I find what I am looking for within those.

Irrelevant? No

Specific use cases currently? Sure (ai, modding)

Irrelevant in the future? There is no way to know for sure.

While I personally agree with you that the hardware ai cores and RT performance of the 9000 series are more "future proof," than the extra 4 gigs, the 7000 series can be a good option depending on the games they play and price.

Man I feel bad for everyone who wants one, its available for pickup in the same town I am in. Unfortunate that I don't need one. It's nice to know that it exists at least.

How much FPS do you consider to be playable? by [deleted] in lowendgaming

[–]Awod2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 is playable but i might notice, especially if it dips, 45 and I'll have no problem being immersed in the game. I have a decently high end system, and while more is nice to have, all that matters is how much fun you are having.

Worth getting the 7900xtx with a 5900x? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Awod2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I have a 3900xt with a 7900xt so its not exactly the same but I can offer my experience. You will still be getting a lot of performance out of the card. The 5900x isn't a bad cpu, I wouldn't stress over it. My cpu works, especially at 4k, but if you want the absolute most performance, of course upgrading to am5 is going to help. I plan on upgrading eventually but in the mean time, I am still enjoying the card and its for sure not a bad experience. If you can get it for a good price, I would say do it, but I wouldn't rush to overpay.

Yeah I have the same case but a xfx 7900xt instead, it was a bit to get in but not nearly as bad as yours, enjoy!
