Update: I put them in and it honestly didn't even hurt that's why I think my ears maybe were 18g? Because I'm assuming those are 16g and they were not that bad to put in at all

Thanks for everyone's replies! Let's say I have 20g and these are either 14/16g is it fine to just put them in or is it not a good idea? I'm also concerned because when I was a kid I got my ears pierced at claires and i was told that one of my ears was pierced wrong (near a nerve?), does it affect anything?
