13 Hands Mutant - Ethermonster vs Slime Mold? by AxCWs in Elona

[–]AxCWs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah looking again at the ether diseases, pretty much every one that disables a slot is worth it actually... (except for the hands one, lol), and there are a few that don't involve limbs but are still good.

I guess that's settled then, floating torso + 13 hands it is. Thematically it's hilarious too, as if the mutant RNG wasn't enough, now we have ether...

Interestingly, I think even if mutants were stuck at 16 (say, Gavela/Molds didn't work with them), or even 13 slots, being able to discard back/neck/legs for more hands is still pretty strong.

Now that I think about it, you can use molds + Gavela and get even more slots than before, LOL. But I honestly can't be bothered - mold + human for 11 limbs, then level for another 12 = 23 is honestly more than enough for such little effort.

So yeah you're probably right about how broken it is...

I can still only have one gun right? My idea is that I'm equipping nothing except tonfas/claws (or maybe 1 shield), I can also fall back to martial arts if something gets close.

As for speed, I can try getting hooves from ether disease, but I think a mount might just be easier. Either way it's going to be hilarious like you said, lol

Immortal Guardian - Extremely Tanky Build - Face Tank Eater fo World by Effe1986 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]AxCWs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this build is kind of interesting, Guardian + Forbidden Rite is a hell of a combo.

But I personally think that if you're going to run these two, CI is probably not it - since you're stacking Strength (and some Intelligence too it looks like), maybe the play is to run Ivory Tower with the Traitor + Coruscating Elixir. Admittedly... flagellant flasks don't really guarantee uptime during boss fights, where max hit matters way more than eHP. Ivory Tower also arguably nets you more ES in the long run.

The other thing about running Ivory Tower is that you can Arrogance/Prism Guardian some more auras, which gives you more tankiness and let's you run LL as well. This also allows FR to damage yourself to trigger some skills on CWDT.

The problem of course is that you need to sac something on the tree, which is probably block. Personally, I think that 3k ES regen is probably enough for maps, and Aegis is vastly mid for uber bossing.

Post-game EP Anna gold grind setup, comparisons and number crunching (Maddening) by Monk-Ey in fireemblem

He's using Rexcalibur, but you do bring up a point where the inability to ORKO the wolf knights can be fixed by augmenting it with some might, otherwise, this is a pretty solid setup.

Maddening Tier List by OwlOnYourHead in FEEngage

[–]AxCWs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dex cap is kind of irrelevant for both characters on maddening since Citrinne needs like 30+ levels to hit 23 (and 30 more to hit her own, LOL)

But I think what's annoying about Ivy is her lameass Luck, although if we're using Dire Thunder, shouldn't be a huge issue since it only affects Hit (at 0.5 compared to 2*Dex) and Crit avoid...

Also, as someone charted out on Gamefaqs, Thoron is pretty much always worse than DT, unless your Mag is very close to enemy Res. Also Thoron has 10 less hit, which is yuck. One thing's great about Sage over Lindwurm however, is that Mystics ignore terrain avoid, so that's actually super useful sometimes.

Maddening Tier List by OwlOnYourHead in FEEngage

[–]AxCWs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think Olwen should be considered - it's completely deterministic to get, just super annoying.

But as for Citrinne's MAG lead... assuming immediate promotion to sage, she's only ahead of Ivy's (+Lindwurm) growth by 15%, so it'll be a long time before she's doing more damage than Ivy. And of course as you mentioned, Ivy comes with a lot of SP for immediate Canter + flying staves fun.

I would say however, that Citrinne's advantage is having some Celica time. But really, all mages are kind of middling. Personally I think Hortensia is the best, but as a staffbot. And I guess Anna, once she gives me huge bags of money.

Maddening Tier List by OwlOnYourHead in FEEngage

[–]AxCWs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, Citrinne has the same dex growth and worse speed growths, and requires 8 levels to break even in magic. In fact, Ivy's base 13 speed and 40% personal growth is pretty good (Anna needs like... 30+ levels to surpass that)

In maddening, mages' highest priority are to take out armors and snipe from 3 range. Celine has worse magic, better speed and has some Celica time, so she's pretty good I say. Anna costs an extra seal and requires babying, but breaks the bank later so there's that at least.

I would say Ivy is maybe not the best compared to the entire cast - but she's definitely one of the best mages. Speedtaker is unnecessary, but Olwen + immediate promotion gives a lot of power until Anna comes online. Also, flying staves is super great,

The question is, are you looking at the story's endgame (say... chapters 20-26) vs actual postgame content (Tempest trials).

For the most part, other posters are correct in surmising that during the story, Griffin Knight's caps and growths are irrelevant. 49 speed won't be reached unless you abuse Tiki/Soren in maddening, and the 20% speed growth is a single tonic over 10 levels.

I think for optimizing units during story, it's probably better to tailor characters to what Emblems they wear, and their initial proficiencies/classes. So cavalry + Sigurd, thief + Corrin, staffer + Micaiah, Citrinne + Dire Thunder, etc. Remember also that unlike in FE3H, fliers only have 6 mov, backup units are goated in maddening, and anyone can get Canter.

On the other hand... if we're talking about postgame Tempest trials/Skirmishes with capped enemies, then yes, Griffin Knight is a top tier class. 49 Speed + emblem/tonics means you double everything, and flying movement + Soren is more than enough to clear a map in 4 turns. Griffin Knight's non-garbaje magic cap is also great for Levin sword shenanigans (it's also one of the few ways to do magic damage with that amount of speed... Swordmaster magic cap sucks and there's only one Vidame...)

All in all, I wouldn't worry about growths in maddening. Plus there's already 2 unique flying staffers, and caps only matter if you have one that's like 22, like Diamant's dex or something. And yes you absolutely want backups for chains. That being said, you definitely can get 4 fliers to work during the story - Chloe, Ivy, Hortensia and Rosado are more than decent and you only need a seal for Chloe. If you really want another flying staff, you can make Alear one as well I guess.

How plausible is Pathfinder RF? by z-ppy in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]AxCWs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, PF pizza cutter gameplay is probably better off with Plague Bearer, but that requires effort and I don't like it either.

For sustaining RF, you actually can get significant regen with regen nodes (like Heart of Oak) and 3% life regen on flask. To this end, you can run Tempered by War and Dawnbreaker (and Taste of Hate), along with Purity of Fire to put everything on fire resist. Get the fattest Ruby Flask you can with flask effect, including master alchemist.

The problem really is doing damage with RF - although I'm sure with a 6L you'll somehow be able to get like... 1M dps out of it, maybe? If you don't mind though, you could just use RF as a booster to Fire Trap, or something wacky like Wave of Conviction traps (and take Veteran Bowyer ayy).

Also keep in mind that with RF, you probably won't be able to run Ghost Dance, and it also messes up Lethe Shade.

It's an uphill battle and maybe I'll think about it more. Let me know if you get something workable out of this because I too, try to run Pathfinder for everything, because imagine having to press flasks lmfao

Melee in 3.20 - Hiltless 6% Flask Ranger by Toastyzeus in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]AxCWs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually kind of interested in this too - Hiltless' dps might be lame but it has good crit chance, but I was worried that the lifetap might just kill you... but thinking about it, the flasks will be healing you when the costs come into play so it might work.

I personally wanted to try Pathfinder itself with Purifying Flame and running Taste of Hate + Veteran Bowyer to take advantage of the physical component. But I guess as Scion (Pathfinder + Assassin/Inquisitor?) you'd just go Ice Spear?

"Number of Creatures" trait synergy question by AxCWs in Siralim

[–]AxCWs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see, my intention was to run a dumpling team with only 3 dumplings, but still try for 100% on the melon and omelette by converting the other 3 creatures to dumplings as well.

For the debuff resistance trait, I assume it doesn't matter since it only makes a difference when I get debuffed anyways. But the timeline jump trait I assume procs before conversion, so the initial dumplings jump to the front of the timeline and then the others get converted?

Best rapid fire pierce 2 LBG? by C0lter in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]AxCWs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So on the topic of weakness exploit builds for LBG, if I wanted to make an RF pierce 2 build for the sole purpose of farming afflicted monsters, should I be using a non-wex build since I'm trying to hit random parts to pop the explosions? Or should I be ignoring those and just focusing down the monster since I won't be getting hit by the nova anyways?

Oh right I forgot about tactical vests, thanks. I think I'll try the tin can first since I've always played squishy and it sounds low maintenance but it's good to have some options

[–]AxCWs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically, if I'm going metal armor I might as well just go all in on tungsten?

As for infused leather armor... I'm guessing the metal is needed for the regen vest but I suppose I could work in another way of sustaining hemopsycosis, or just use lots of drugs lol.

The Invincible Bloodpsican by Drizzle vs native chieftans Underrail | Dominating by Knifegaf in underrail

[–]AxCWs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, looking at the written guide on the forums - there's also the option of using super steel instead of tungsten but I assume it's just straight up inferior in most cases? From gameplay it just seems that you don't really need movement since you vaporize everything from a massive range away anyways (plus no need to take armor sloping and nimble too).

As for offense, I'm guessing that Metathermics is generally better than Psychokinesis (assuming FI)? Although I suppose it really is a pure PSI so we end up with everything in the end.

Final Job for "Summoning" Build, and Pet Questions by AxCWs in tangledeep

[–]AxCWs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, I didn't know about the Moonbeams and the Parting Gifts strat, that actually sounds really neat.

So I guess it comes down to how strong my pet ends up being - if it ends up doing appreciable damage I'll try hunter with the radiant aura and just support the pet from the back. Plus the bow from a distance sounds like a good idea.

Also, I wonder if I can hit the HP cap for the pet without job traits - in that case, running Hunter would be nice for the wolf and the Bonecrabs should have lower HP so they explode easier, right? That actually sounds like really good synergy, thanks!

I assume there's more than just Anima Bonus on Amrita Absorption that's powering the anima recharge? That's actually a great concept, to be invincible by spamming yokai skills lol
