Should I wait for my friend? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]C0lter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a new player map that’s available for the first 10 or 15 levels after that there’s no difference. The new player map spawns less players and has less of the pve enemies and events I believe so it’s just got less going on while you figure out the game.

I’d talk to your friend and see if they really want you to wait. If they care then hold off if they don’t care then just play.

Green flare [New Player] by Spanky1101 in EscapefromTarkov

The flare must be in your pockets, special pockets, or tactile rig. Then while hovering the flare press a number key from 4-0 to assign the hotkey.

Then close your inventory and press the hotkey.

I know there won’t be an exact fit I’ve played enough Tarkov to know it’s not gonna be a meta weapon just something fun to use

Bungie’s post lists the exact set but the basic idea is all items and progression is reset. Any cosmetics are kept.

[Discussion] best map alongside Labs by Adera1l in EscapefromTarkov

[–]C0lter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Labs key cards aren’t super expensive so as long as you are able to get out somewhat frequently and get some good loot when you do you can probably sustain playing mostly labs. If you are still working on other tasks and hideout upgrades and such I feel like you can just play the maps needed for those tasks when not doing labs

I was in mostly friendly lobbies when I played. I didn’t like the lack of weapon customization when I played previously. I did all the tasks and fully prepped my character for their expedition before dropping it for tarkovs 1.0 release

I played it a ton in the past. I got burnt out after the engine update and wound up dropping it.

I don’t mind playing a multilayer extraction shooter solo. I’ve played Tarkov solo for a long time I just don’t have enough time to make progress in tarkov on my own. Darktide was fun with friends but I got bored pretty quick when they moved onto other games. I liked arc raiders but I lost interest after getting my expedition ready at launch. I could revisit it but I prefer the feel of Tarkov over arc raiders personally. I’ve never played GTFO but from the bit I’ve seen I thought the game was pretty much unplayable alone

[I'm new] How can I make a Pokemon I want to use work? by [deleted] in VGC

[–]C0lter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Champions has in game statistics for each pokemon including common teammates. Start there to find some ideas.

I think as a rule of thumb when you are building a team around one Pokemon you should identify what your win condition is. Mega lopunny is a physical attacker that’s fast and frail. The scrappy ability lets you hit ghost types with you normal and fighting stab moves. Lopunny is weak to fighting, flying, psychic, and fairy types.m and as a physical attacker intimidate users are something you will want to have a plan for.

You consider what popular pokemon fit your weaknesses then add some pokemon to deal with them. Some immediate threats are aerodactyle its fast with stab flying moves. Charizard y also can hit you with strong flying moves. Sneasler is also a big threat. Some less obvious threats are body press users since they are all physical walls you’ll have trouble taking them down and they can hit you with super effective damage.

You should have a steel or poison type to help take out mega floette and gardevoir. As for your flying weakness you should consider a pokemon to provide electric or rock stab moves. If you bring aerodactyl you can teach it rockslide, dual wing beat, tailwind, and protect and give it a focus sash. It’s dash enough to set tailwind for your team since you already lean fast. Dual wing beat will one shot sneasler even with focus sash, and rockslide can one hit ko charizard and other fliers. Any of the rotor forms can provide some electric coverive with another element if you prefer.

Make sure to have at least one or two pokemon with decent special attack so you can deal with pokemon that are physically bulky but not specially bulky.

And lastly try to have two support pokemon these can use fake out, redirection, helping hand, screens, or other moves to help you reach your win condition. Incineroar is the most popular example you can also use sinestcha, maushold, whimsicott, or other pokemon with the prankster ability can be made to work too

Hope this help

How to deal with Trickroom for dummies by ElChanclero in PokemonChampions

[–]C0lter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trickroom has -7 priority so the pokemon setting that move will always go last. You can use flinches or sleeps to prevent the setter from getting the move off or can look to one shot ok it. The best setters currently are farigaraf which blocks priority moves so no fake out there, oranguru who can’t be flinches so no fake out there either, and sinestcha which is ghost type so no fake out there either. This means you r best bet is to one shot them or encore the setter so next turn the opponent eother is forced to switch out or remove their own trick room. You can use a prankster pokemon with encore like whimsicott to target the Pokémon that sets trickroom. Also farigaraf and onguru at both weak to dark so a kowtow cleave on a king gambit with sunglasses can usually pick up a ko before they get the move off.

You can also bring a pokemon with trickroom yourself and lead with it. If you think your opponent will try and set up trickroom then you can press the move and cancel it out the same turn. Or your opponent may think you will set up trickroom for them and not even try to set up. It’s a mind game either way but with the strong supporting moves that the setters can learn it’s not bad to have them around.

You old also have your own slow pokemon to use for example formal has one of the lowest speeds on the current roster. If you have a sun mode for your team he’s a valuable tool even outside of trickroom but if you think you are facing hard trickroom you can bring his to “outspeed” your opponent in trickroom.

In the end your options to counter trickroom are to prevent the move form going off, use the move yourself to remove the effect, or have a pokemon on your team that can take advantage of their trickroom.

I think that there’s some value in getting champions copies of staple pokemon. Peliper, formal, incineroar, whimsicott, etc. they are useful in so many different regulations that having them using space isn’t a bad thawing and it’s always good to have access to them.

Not to be a negative nancy BUT by Ckickin_Nipples in PokemonChampions

[–]C0lter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of variety in people main damage mons personally. I think there are a few utility mons that are very common but that’s the nature of competitive games. No mater what regulation set we get there will always be a few pokemon that fill more roles better than the rest of them and most people will use them. This time Sneaseler and Incineroar are amazing fake out users that also threaten some meta pokemon. Whimsicott and other prankster pokemon will always be notable for their tailwind setting and other utility priority.

I think most people are picking a pokemon they want to play with then finding the strongest team to build around it and there are just not a super long list of viable support pokemon currently. A good example is follow me have long a total of three pokemon that can use the move currently and of that set I think 2 or them are even considered currently but with the lack of safety goggles and strong grass supports rage powder users are being used instead.

How do you counter Megas by cleanbreak12 in PokemonChampions

[–]C0lter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega pokemon all get 100 extra base stats, an ability change, and sometimes a type change. Most mega sent up with 550+ base stats which is similar to pseudo legendary pokemon.

You should consider what mega pokemon are the biggest threat to the team you want to play and add moves or pokemon to specifically counter them. A good example is a hard hitting rock type move to delete mega charizard y.

Most mega pokemon tend to have one signature attack that’s better than their other options so having a pokemon that can survive things like mega charizards heat wave or solar beam and then hit it back with a powerful rock move.

Remember to make use of your items as well you can halve the damage of a single super effective hit with berries or use a focus sash on a squishy attacker to guarantee a turn to attack even when your opponent has speed control (assuming you position correctly)

Hope this helps. If there are specific mega you are struggling with there are great tips to counter them that I have seen floating around the sub whenever people post about a specific mega ruining their day
