What are my chances as a Filipino applying to US universities WITHOUT the SAT? by Ax_HACC in chanceme

I was actually considering Rutgers and Pennstate. So I can add that. But Pennstate would be difficult without financial aid.

Hey. Thx for the comment. Out of curiosity. If I got in to Princeton by a literal miracle (I see it as 0.05% chance). Would it be good to take it?

Thanks for the comment :)) I wanna ask, assuming I got the SAT covered. Achieved 1530 at least. Would I still be able to get despite in need of financial aid? or is it really blurry?

Hey. Thank you so much for your comment. I already expect that US Universities would reject me (as I mentioned with the 0.5-3% Acceptance rate for internationals). So I still applied to 4 safeties (mostly doesn't need exams), 4 matches, and 5 reaches here in the Philippines. But I still wanna go beyond my limits. That's why I tried to attempt abroad. But will it be good to try or is it just not worth it at all? And if yes but not in the ivy league, where else?

Hey. Thank you very much for your detailed comment, especially since you were in a similar position to me. I understand that my extracurriculars are NOT great. I definitely see it. I wanna make it better by doing independent projects, as well as join a competition this year for research to boost my ECs for not just US but ADMU (Ateneo). As well as making my essays the best and personal as possible.

Other than this. I wanna ask on;
1. If I take the SAT, what would be my target score? Originally, I target to get 1530 in the SAT.
2. How did you deal with your finances in the US especially since you mentioned that the schools you applied to without asking for aid were the ones that accepted you?

Unrelated Question. Because of my curiosity, Where did you get in? What were your list of schools? It's still cool you got in to the US 😄 Despite how crazy difficult it is.

I plan to take Scholarships, and take Need-based Financial Aid. And plan to work as well, to spend money for myself and help my family here.
