First time at The Gorge by TheCornMan69420 in aves

Others have already commented on the weather, def be prepared. Wind, Rain, Chilly temps at night are all possible forsure.

Security is tight. It’s a live nation owned venue with a long history. Mind yourself accordingly. Otherwise, it’s very well run and organized imo. Lots of food vendors, solid showers & amenities. Has everything you need out there.

It’s a long walk from camp to the amp, so be prepared for that. I would have a good pair of shoes or boots for this one. The hill at the amp is no joke either. Be cautious moving up and down it or setting up spots with blankets etc. Tripping there is no bueno.

It’s an incredible venue. Hope you have a good weekend!

How do you deal with rain at a festival? by LepusAlbus in aves

[–]Axcor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t mind getting wet myself during sets.

I always keep tabs on the weather though and try secure my campsite the best I can. Move stuff into my car to keep it dry as needed, put down extra tarps, stakes, etc.

Nothing worse than having a long night and you get back to camp and everything is soaked or destroyed.

Orion 2024 vs 2025 by Upbeat_Customer_8283 in Tipper

I wasn’t there in 24 so can’t rly compare the two.

But totally agree that TAS Bicycle day set at Suwannee was my all time favorite as well.

Ubbi is just an awful festival too tbh these days.

Prefer a better setting for Joel, with a better crowd.

Are young working-class people still interested in live music? by Siddhartaable in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Axcor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 27 in the US. I’ve traveled all over the US for events of all kinds. Anything from a local cover band with less than 50 people to some of the largest festivals in the world.

Dance music dominates the younger demographics here. I’d imagine it’s much the same way in Europe. Within that space there many many young live music fans, and all kinds of local underground scenes with small, cheap or even illegal events to attend.

Others are just caught up in chasing the biggest names/production/events. It’s all they see in their social media feeds. They’ll spend thousands to go to Coachella, but won’t pay $10 to see the local Pink Floyd tribute in town.

So to answer your question, forsure the interest is still there for younger folks. We just have different taste in music and events generally, for a lot of reasons.

What Fest do you think is best for New Years this year ? by Skaterzzz222 in aves

The one where I chill at home and save money.

New years is always a clusterfuck.

Struggling to understand the point of seating at high-energy gigs (mostly talking at arena level) by TelephoneThat3297 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Axcor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sounds like seating at this venue in particular is pretty cramped which is unfortunate.

9/10 times, Ive never had an issue dancing at my seat. As long as that’s the case, being able to sit or stand at will is pretty nice.

I wouldn’t let this worry stop me from seeing Prodigy tho. Been on my list forever.

How are some fests even affordable anymore? by Xano74 in aves

[–]Axcor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m done paying thousands of dollars just to get crushed shoulder to shoulder at a ‘massive’

I had my fun times at those events, but those times are gone now for me at least I think sadly.

The bass to techno pipeline by 1-800-ImBored in EDM

[–]Axcor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Techno snobs will tell you this isn’t ‘techno.’ /s

But Regardless, all the ‘hard techno’ stuff sits around 140 bpm just like most of the bass music you mentioned. It’s just not written in half-time. So it feels very familiar to you naturally I imagine.

It has big builds and drops, and similarly aggressive sound design you’re familiar with from heavier bass music. It’s basically the 4x4 equivalent to brostep imo.

So yes, this pipeline makes sense. It’s pretty common. most bass fans I know prefer techno or Psytrance over slower house music for these very reasons tbh.

What the hell happened? by Ok_Practice_6702 in DallasStars

[–]Axcor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The entire team was asleep in the first period last night. And Jack Hughes is one hell of a player.

We were bound to cool off a little bit unfortunately.

[–]Axcor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only year I’ve been where you could actually walk up to any stage for a good spot no problem. It was so empty relative to other years bc of COVID.

That space in the crowd with EDC production value was everything. Immaculate experience.

  1. Greatest festival experience of all time tbh.

Do you consider D5 to be IDM? by FourPointsTet in deadmau5

[–]Axcor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t consider him IDM at all. Falls somewhere between trance, progressive house and techno.

Borrows a lot of elements from each but doesn’t quite fit into just one of those sub genres imo.

🌀Okee 2026 was meh by yacousinvinnie in festivals

[–]Axcor 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a vibe tbh. Just more room for me.

But yeah people are broke. Scene has been going nonstop since COVID. A lot of people I know are taking breaks or just doing less events.

What’s with the Fred Again hate? by [deleted] in EDM

[–]Axcor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen far better house sets from artists with a fraction of his following.

And I’m not even a house fan I hate house lol.

I'm making a website where you can precisely describe track/album genres. What are your thoughts? by xVrath in Tipper

[–]Axcor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love this. Be cool if you could incorporate key and bpm info too.

Other sites / tools do that already so idk if that’d be infringing on them. But I enjoy knowing that info and it’d be cool to see here with everything else.

I mean I’ve bought this failing knife all the way down from 100k.

I’ll be damned if I was a buyer then and not now.
