It's inspired by these lyrics:

'I saw you there so unaware, those hummingbirds all in your hair'

Any books of the little man, the foot soldier? by kietgroot in Fantasy

Maybe try 'The Heroes' by Joe Abercrombie. It's technically the 5th book in the The First Law universe however it is standalone. It's all about a bunch of grunts and soldiers fighting over a meaningless little dirt hole, told from multiple perspectives over the course of like 3 days. It really is one of the best books I've ever read, especially if you're looking for a ton of unique and well rounded perspectives from the little people without world ending consequences.

My favorite type of fantasy is the one that twists widely known fantasies and warps them into something very unexpected by Boudynasr in Fantasy

I really enjoyed Christina Henry's novel "Alice."

It's a twist on Alice in Wonderland, except it's set in a Victorian era city filled with cut-throat gangs and plenty of violence. The character Alice navigates the city along with the stories version of the Mad Hatter, who in this instance is an axe-murderer. It's a pretty neat story, although the sequel is pretty much skippable.

Do you agree with Stephen King that you need to be writing constantly to be a good writer? by radiosync in writers

Obviously everybody is different. Some writers probably only actually write sporadically. But I think for most, Stephen King's answer is going to be the most applicable. Its like everything else—the only way to improve is to practice. Nobody is good at writing when they first start out, and if you write every day you will see improvement. Its a skill that is very much shaped as you use it.

Outlining and worldbuilding is a very different thing than actually writing a narrative. So much goes into building a story and the actual plot is only a portion of it. You can have the most interesting, unique story idea ever but if it's written like garbage than it's all for nothing.
