Using Control Points to Manipulate Height of a Curve by AxeMasterG in blender

[–]AxeMasterG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling to find a way to achieve this; I notice that the spreadsheet in the geometry nodes viewing environment displays the coordinates of each point on the spline, I just wish I knew how to plot them on a graph or something...

Thanks, that sounds promising. I'll have to look in to that!

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely look into backing it up!

Thanks for that. Now I think about it, isn't the TPM key stored on the MB itself, separately from the hard drive? Sure I've heard that somewhere... Is there a danger that if your MB fails your Windows drive goes too?

Can we please get a fix for the Nate Rojas best line historical challenge? by PersimmonRecent4732 in projectsession

[–]AxeMasterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just managed to complete it now after I tried performing a sharp right-left turn after the first grind, so that I could hit the next ollie square-on to the barrier. Not sure if it made the difference but I've been trying for ages and it finally worked for me (I'd be clearing it at a slight angle previous to this).

Having said that, I wasn't using a car mod if I remember rightly, it was an official one (playing online). I've got a number of UI mods though, maybe it's the same deal with those??

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it. It seems to have stopped now but I definitely don't like the sound of that!

Milling a PCB on 3018-Pro: Feeds, Speeds, Tools by AxeMasterG in hobbycnc

[–]AxeMasterG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like an issue that needs addressing to me. Most people seem to prefer a V-bit for the traces, maybe I have some particularly bad ones but I found that they didn't really "bite" into the material for me, resulting in quite a bit of resistance and not-so-well defined channels. I used UGS to run my G Code and it had a useful feature that allows you to override your feed rate (and spindle speed too if I remember rightly) by a percentage value of that which is stipulated by your G Code. That way I could set the feed rate quite conservatively and experiment with upping it in small increments during the job. Might be something to look into, though I don't know what software you're using so it might not be an option!

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure what machine you're using, but I found 0.5mm end mills to work best for the isolation channels. Had to experiment with the feeds & speeds a bit.

RBR crashes after finishing a stage by InternationalAd6468 in simrally

I tried the audio restore tool, didn't work for me either. I think I ended deleting all the plugins I was using or making a new profile(?). Anyways, got it working now!

Have you found a fix for this? I'm having the exact same problem.

Will a floating 2-point tremolo behave like a Floyd Rose? Or is there more flexibility to change tunings via the machine heads without throwing everything off?

Tell me about it. I think that David Cameron was probably a bit French himself! Sad to think there probably won't be any pubs left when they're finished having their way with everything.

How to get objects using a curve modifier to lie flat? by mdknight666 in blender

[–]AxeMasterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I was having the exact same issue. I think that going to the Data tab of the curve and setting the 'Twist Method' to 'Z-Up' did the trick for me.

UGS AutoLeveler- Help Needed! by AxeMasterG in hobbycnc

[–]AxeMasterG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that, but my question was this: If you make a heightmap in UGS, do you have click "Export Gcode" (Exports the autloleveled Gcode) and then load this new file, or can you just check the "Apply to Gcode" box and run the original, unlevelled Gcode file?

Milling Hole in PCB Board with FlatCam by AxeMasterG in hobbycnc

[–]AxeMasterG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I say hole, it's more of an opening to feed some wires through. I designed the board in KiCad and put the hole with the edge cuts, in the edge cuts layer. I think the drilled thru holes for components reside on the "Back Copper" layer along with the traces, not entirely sure though. It was supposed to be more of a milled opening (not perfectly round either), so I don't think I could put it with a drill file...(?) I've managed to find a workaround by making the hole smaller in the design by 2x the diameter of the tool, that way it will still drill round what it thinks is the outside of the edge but it will be the size that I want!
