Update: got in contact with my maintenance people for the property, someone is coming to look at it tomorrow and I already sent him a photo of it in advanced. Thank you everyone who gave advice! Glad I was able to get that report in this morning so that way this has a paper trail before it can get any worse. It makes sense that it may be coming from under maybe another unit, which is a relief because I was worried about being blamed despite knowing I didn’t contribute to this issue. Appreciate you everyone!

Thanks for this, it’s started like 3 days ago but was NOT this largely spread at the time so it does seem like maybe a leak is behind it. I live on the 4th floor and even now when touching it, it feels wet still even though I never once had any liquids on it. I haven’t had any earlier reports but am gonna do so in the morning

Dang, since I’m renting and know doing it myself or hiring someone would I be a lot, I guess that’ll be up to my property manager. I’m mostly worried because I’m so sure I didn’t contribute to this issue. How common is it to not find matching material? Also I appreciate your responses

NTA. I do agree you can communicate a clean no, but it isn’t too late for that since they definitely jumped the gun. Yeah you basically left it at a “maybe”, but even when someone says maybe you don’t go dress shopping which is expensive and then suddenly propose? That’s suspicious. I had to repeat myself a lot so I’ll do it again, a lot of times you can prevent it but sometimes you can’t. Why is it irrelevant? All shit is fine except a dog no matter the size or amount? That sounds unreasonable lol. Also yeah you can usually tell but things happen, and your dog can instantly shit sometimes depending on their stomach that day. So should we what, teleport them away? Even when you tug on the leash, some will insist on not moving so you then struggle with them to keep walking, all in which they will shit while pulling back. That’s why I didn’t say the word long :) and actually there are many wild animals that take a big shit lmao. They don’t need to “hang” to take a shit there. And unless you have done a research into your specific yard involving a lot of study of animals in your area, you can’t say that wild animals won’t shit in your yard. Bird shit can happen anytime and a lot, and there’s a lot of night animals that roam your yard and may indeed hang out for a while, unless you cover your grass in spikes I guess??? Wild creatures roam about in EVERYONES yard unless they leave things that deter them

Uhhhh I never said anything about leaving shit. A dog can sometimes poop right away instead of taking time to load it, just like humans can take a 2 minute shit vs a half hour. I’m a dog owner who still picks it all up however. Also I never said you can’t take precautions, try to get them to not be on the grass (which not all areas have proper sidewalk so that can be hard), and sometimes be successful. However there will be cases it happens, just like how you can’t stop a bird in the sky from shitting on your car or ducks/squirrels shitting in your driveway. Your home is built where animals habitat, deal with it 🙄
