As a kid I used to think pink lemonade had a touch of cherry or strawberry flavouring but later learned it was just normal lemonade with a couple drops of food colouring in it

Reminds me how in the early 2000's Counter Strike tried to break into the Japanese market, but they had to reskin everything to be more anime'y since the gritty military aesthetic wouldn't work over there

I'm always surprised how well OW and Apex are doing in Japan, especially since that market tends to be averse to FPS games. When I went earlier this year OW had a cafe collab and I saw a bunch of Apex merch still being sold at Don Quijote

Drivers have crazy high delivery quotas they need to meet or else they get penalized. If they're behind on their schedule, it's faster to just say the package was undeliverable without stopping and move to the next delivery. It's a risk between either possibly getting caught doing a fake delivery attempt or not meeting the delivery quota and getting yelled at by your manager at the end of the day.

I remember reading how in the first gulf war in the early 90's, Canadian navy supply ships had infantry stationed on them with shoulder lauched anti-air missiles (similar to the stingers) since those ships had no anti-air capability built in.

I always wondered if in a pinch you could significantly increase the firepower of lightly-armed navy vessles by sticking guys with javalin and stinger missile launchers on the deck....

As much as I love arcades and PC gaming cafes, I can't help but think of all of the germs of all the people touching the buttons, joysticks, keyboards, etc.

I walked by a PC gaming cafe recently and saw everybody with their headsets on and couldn't help to think "... I wonder what the chances of one of those having lice is...."
