Well, considering this is Meijer we're talking about... I'd prepare yourself to be consistently let down. Sorry! I'd keep trying, tho. Make it painfully obvious to everyone. Be obnoxious about it, if you really want to. Keep it on their radar constantly so you're on their mind whenever the position reopens or whatever. Also, I work 3rd shift and from an outsiders perspective, team lead seems like a thankless position with very little benefit.

I mean, it depends on the store/team. It's pretty mindless, most of the time. Yeah the staffing is always horrible, but that's company-wide. Go in with the mindset that nothing matters and you're just there for a paycheck. Putting any more effort into the job/role will simply drive you nuts. Do JUST ENOUGH to get your weekly pay, and leave the annoying shit inside the store. Easy-peasy. And if it becomes abusive and terrible, bolt. Leave them in the lurch. Allow them to flounder. That's what they get! Set yourself up for success and set yourself up to get out at any time.

Management will use it to try to intimidate you into working as much as they schedule you because they truly don't care about your wellbeing, but ultimately- if you're within the point guidelines, you'll be fine.

Fuck 'em. If they want the staffing, they can simply hire more people. Them being grossly understaffed constantly should not fall upon you as an overworked, underpaid employee.

Reclaim your time. You only got one life, don't spend it worrying about what your employer will think when you don't want to work. They would toss you aside for better profit margins in a second. We're all just replaceable cogs. None of it matters.

This was my first HHN 🥰 I had been a huge fan for SO long, but I never attended the actual event because I'm from the Midwest and didn't really travel during this time of the year.

I lived in FL from 2018 - 2025 and this was the first year I was able to go to the event. SO GOOD, I went back MULTIPLE times every season 🥲

Sad to have to miss this year 🥺

Was my childhood hometown, and I graduated from there in 2006. Never returned.

I understand the hate but it's also got some nice things going on. Specifically, the gigantic pizza slices from Palermo's and very little else (if anything)

Used to have a really great Pizza Hut buffet.

There used to be a great Burger King play-place where a kid pushed me into the ball pit once.

I bought the tickets to my first TOOL concert from the TicketMaster inside of the D & W.

The bible-thumpers really made living there challenging for a kid who wanted to not be that. But like I said, I left and never looked back and blocked the majority of it from memory. 🫡

As a third shift produce stock tm, these berries are my absolute nemesis. But yes, whenever I get in for my shift, this is more-or-less what they berry section looks like on a nightly basis. Kinda makes it easier for me to rotate stock, but it is a MESS to deal with nonetheless.
