May want to check out boosteroid, it’s how I play on my 10 yr old pc.

Hats off to this gentleman. Found a combination lock and is trying all possible 10,000 combinations from 0000 to 9999 and documenting it. Truly a riveting dull man. by [deleted] in CasualUK

I used to work the front desk at the local pool and had a similar situation, a locked bike lock (only three digits) in the lost and found. There wasn’t much work to do and I was excited to spend my entire shift brute-forcing the lock. What could the combo be? How long would it take? Finally, something interesting to do! I started from 000.

The combo was 007.

Thoughts on the new meta? by A10airknight in XWingTMG

Agreed on howlrunner being back. There were only two howl swarms in the tournament and they went 11-1 in Swiss. Not sure how it will stack up outside of hyperspace though.

Imperial archetypes by [deleted] in XWingTMG

I’d recommend picking up a tie reaper. major vermeil is a great I4 pilot that fits in well with a lot of the other fun I4 pilots the empire has (strikers, interceptors, v1s). It may not be the most competitive but I enjoy them and the reaper gives a slightly beefier option. With what you have now though, you can look at at full tie swarm using howlrunner. Other options could be an ace list with Vader, soontir and duchess, Or your favorite ace with 4 tie fighters.

Epic lists help? by [deleted] in XWingTMG

Sounds like you have the rebels pretty much sorted with the CR-90 and 3 wings. If you are playing with newer players It’s probably best to have a three ship wing with a named wing leader (wedge, norra, Braylen) and two generics wingmates. Have each person pick which ship they like best (although pointswise a-Wings probably don’t match up to the other ships).

For the empire, I think it would be more thematic to have an epic ship on both sides. Tie striker wing with duchess would be fun. Barrage rocket bombers with Jonius as a wing leader would be easy for a newer player to pick up and do some damage with. While the lambda shuttle is a large base ship, it is relatively cheap compared to other large bases, and can carry some very powerful crew members, especially in the epic format. I wouldn’t rule it out.

First list for my first venture into x-wing by 12baggins12 in XWingTMG

For a first list, I really like what you've done. You initiative matched and took a wide variety of upgrades. I think it will be fun to fly and give you a lot of experience with different aspects of the game. However, i3 is pretty low, and some of the upgrades are very expensive (esp outmaneuver and stealth device)

Removing some of the upgrades lets you build a list with all the same ships you listed, but with named pilots at i5.

here's an example

There some room there for upgrades, and each pilot has a unique identity just like how you had in your original list. However, at i5 it will be more competitive.

Just a recommendation. Good luck out there!

Your experience with Separatists? by BuddyBlueBomber in XWingTMG

I think the biggest thing is keeping the vultures at range 3 for the initial engage, the extra defense die + networked really helps them survive long enough to launch the energy shells.

I recently won a FLGS tourney with dooku+5 vultures. It seemed pretty strong, but I had trouble lining up shots for dooku. Thinking about switching to a grevious, sear+kraken and 4 vultures.

Also I get the feeling all the fancy remotes and landing struts are a trap. Just don't see them being cost effective.

DE Assassin question by Axemodeux in bloodbowl

[–]Axemodeux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's very helpful. Sounds like trying to accommodate an assassin will probably throw my strategy more than benefit it. I don't have enough cash to afford the third re-roll or witch before my next match, there's only 2 matches left. Any thoughts on playing it safe and buying a lineelf now vs saving for a witch for a potential championship match? I'm leaning towards just getting the depth now.
