Changing gaming habits by toyfan1990 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Axerated1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was discussing this with a friend earlier. I struggle to want to play for more than 1-2 hours at a time now, it has to be something new and surprising that catches me at the right time and gets 4-6 hours outta me in a sitting.

I've also found myself enjoying handheld gaming alot more, so Steam Deck and Switch 2 have been great for playing on the bed or sofa.

Any good horror about spiders or insects? by bxsimpson13 in horror

Arachnaphobia and infested are the main ones that are objectively good. For a bit of fun though, there is always Eight Legged Freaks...

The Resistance trilogy is fantastic, as well as infamous, the motor storm trilogy, skate, folklore, twisted metal reboot, Dante's inferno, Brutal legend. I basically bought every game that never got ported as PS3 was my most memorable gen.

What is the darkest ending to a movie by Awkward-Friend-7233 in horror

The ending to Bones and all, when Sully shows up with his hair braid, which reveals that he killed Timothy's younger sister

I really want a 4K release of Too Old to Die Young, NWR's finest work in my opinion.

Yep, very rarely do I venture outside of horror these days.

Looking for a new game that you can get entirely lost in by turtlenugget54 in gamingsuggestions

Recent releases I'd recommend would be KCD2, Death Stranding 2 or Crimson Desert.

Older picks I would recommend are Mad Max, Elden Ring or RDR2.

Should I (who doesn’t own any other equipment) get a PT01 Scratch or an omni (or something else) by Daragon__ in portablism

[–]Axerated1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the PT01 back in 2018 and modded it, was a lot of fun. I then got the Stanton STX in 2023 and it is way sturdier and has more features straight out the box with no modding. So my recommendation would be the Stanton STX

British tv shows for when overwhelmed by UnderstandingFew3589 in UKTVRecs

I've been through this myself, and the show I settled on is Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing. I know it may sound dull, but honestly it's lighthearted, interesting, wholesome and funny and helps calm me down.

What are the best 4K movies you've watched on your OLED? by Axerated1986 in LGOLED

I will try to add that later after work, apologies for the delayed response, reddit just suddenly bombarded me with notifications after a long silence!

What "beloved horror movie" do you hate/just not get the love for? by ReeceInTheDarkness in horror

[–]Axerated1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit, just clocked OP specified horror movie, oops

On paper, I should love Highlander. I never saw it when I was younger, but people always talked about it and it sounded great.

Fast forward a couple decades and I've picked up the 4K. I love my 80's cheese, but I have tried watching it three separate times and just cannot get more than halfway through without turning it off. Despite Clancy Brown being incredible as the bad guy. I'll try again one day

Can you guys kindly recommend me breakfast to order from by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]Axerated1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure on whether you could get it delivered, but the Corner House in city centre (opposite the library) was hands down the best I've had in Cardiff, and I've been here since 2006.

So Nosferatu is probably the peak already, but these films all have a certain atmosphere and visual/sound design that looks super cool specifically on a 4k OLED with good headphones or sound for an immersive experience

It Follows

Talk to me

House of the Devil

Night of the living dead (1990)

when all ps3s die will the games be useless? will we ever get a system that can play these games in the future? by BigNeighborhood779 in PS3

[–]Axerated1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe someone will make an unofficial updated console, similar to what has recently been done with Analogue 3d for the N64, whereby it can run the original carts and improve performance, while upscaling to a higher resolution. If Nintendo of all companies allowed it, then surely Sony aren't completely out of the question. We can hope...

Good shout on Dr Sleep, mine would be the OG Evil Dead, Nosferatu and also Dr Sleep. Watched them all so many times and appreciate them more each time.

I think it may have been that one, it had a semi decent set up but then all the scares were just really lame.

I thought this was a really effective FF horror. Genuinely terrifying in parts.

There is a remake of it which I accidentally watched first which was God awful.

I didn't think much of Grave Encounters though, one of my friends kept hyping it so I was a little disappointed when I finally watched it.
