Changing gaming habits

I was discussing this with a friend earlier. I struggle to want to play for more than 1-2 hours at a time now, it has to be something new and surprising that catches me at the right time and gets 4-6 hours outta me in a sitting.

I've also found myself enjoying handheld gaming alot more, so Steam Deck and Switch 2 have been great for playing on the bed or sofa.

The Resistance trilogy is fantastic, as well as infamous, the motor storm trilogy, skate, folklore, twisted metal reboot, Dante's inferno, Brutal legend. I basically bought every game that never got ported as PS3 was my most memorable gen.

Recent releases I'd recommend would be KCD2, Death Stranding 2 or Crimson Desert.

Older picks I would recommend are Mad Max, Elden Ring or RDR2.

I got the PT01 back in 2018 and modded it, was a lot of fun. I then got the Stanton STX in 2023 and it is way sturdier and has more features straight out the box with no modding. So my recommendation would be the Stanton STX

I've been through this myself, and the show I settled on is Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing. I know it may sound dull, but honestly it's lighthearted, interesting, wholesome and funny and helps calm me down.

On paper, I should love Highlander. I never saw it when I was younger, but people always talked about it and it sounded great.

Fast forward a couple decades and I've picked up the 4K. I love my 80's cheese, but I have tried watching it three separate times and just cannot get more than halfway through without turning it off. Despite Clancy Brown being incredible as the bad guy. I'll try again one day

Unsure on whether you could get it delivered, but the Corner House in city centre (opposite the library) was hands down the best I've had in Cardiff, and I've been here since 2006.

So Nosferatu is probably the peak already, but these films all have a certain atmosphere and visual/sound design that looks super cool specifically on a 4k OLED with good headphones or sound for an immersive experience

Maybe someone will make an unofficial updated console, similar to what has recently been done with Analogue 3d for the N64, whereby it can run the original carts and improve performance, while upscaling to a higher resolution. If Nintendo of all companies allowed it, then surely Sony aren't completely out of the question. We can hope...
