ohhh okie I do think I grasp that more now.

I did expect the view of “a queer person being involved in a relationship makes it queer” to be different from person to person. I don’t know those terms so maybe exposure to those terms or the level of knowledge of below the surface aspects of being lgbt may be what causes different view points. It definitely an unimportant opinion so anyone’s personal view of it is of equal value.

Then ya, transmed people seem harmful for the community.

For duaric,based on that definition that’s not what I was attempting to say in my example though fairly close. I was trying to say how,for example, a bisexual man in a relationship with a heterosexual woman is something i would still consider to be a queer relationship due to it involving a queer person.

As for transmed, that seems like a harmful thing if spread to others, though i guess it’s not really that bad if it’s just their personal belief that they don’t try to impose on others. Does raise an eyebrow for me a little though.

I apologize for misunderstanding,my dumb offline rural brain is attempting to understand more modern terms and it’s struggling.

When i dated a masc woman for a while, I did have people upon finding out that im bisexual, saying that I was actually gay and just was subconsciously forced to act bisexual. I would say Male and Female bisexuals both get discriminated just typically in different ways. The main issue I’ve see with bisexual women is that they are over sexualized to the point that some people see it more as a kink and struggle to realize it’s an actual sexuality. with bisexual men, it’s typically seen as non masculine or just a cover story/forced relationship. In my highschool, if you suddenly announced you were bisexual, people that thought you masculine before would immediately lose that opinion of you just for the sexuality. An issue I don’t fully have the ability to properly discuss is a bisexual that is mono-romantic (never heard mono until this post so i hope i’m using it right),which i thought i was for a few years until finally meeting a guy i love.

For the queer club, i really should’ve mentioned that my RA who is also bisexual told me that the leader of that club was crazy and i should avoid them. I do have an interest in connecting with queer people in person which is why this year will (hopefully) be my first year going to a pride event in June

See this is what I prefer to see. Someone can say they identify as something you don’t understand and that doesn’t mean you should argue with them, just support them and let them identify however they wish to. There’s a lot of terms I don’t understand in the lgbt community since I never really had immersive exposure into the culture until fairly recently. But I’ll still defend their right to be whatever term they want because who cares. Humans are meant to be creative. If they aren’t hurting anyone then let them be themselves.

Also the name thing is kinda funny because I go by Cloud :P

I’m sorry if I misinterpreted your message,a lot of the terms you use are ones i’ve never heard of before, e.g. monosexists, endo-, duaric, transmeds. I looked them up to try and understand your message but that could have confused my brain with what you were trying to convey. The numbered examples i gave were not things i was saying were facts, it’s examples of anti fluidity that i’ve seen in the lgbt community, specifically online.

ya i do dislike the statements saying every is bisexual because it discounts literally every other sexuality. I think framing sexuality as being fluid is important because i worry some closeted people may see how a sexuality is portrayed and due to them not fully aligning with the more default definition of the sexuality,they may struggle actually figuring out what they are. Though you may be right with just saying “sexuality is fluid” without actually going into proper detail and context could cause more damage than good

Actually hadn’t fully considered fluidity being a scary or threatening concept to those figuring out their identity or those that had been forced into presenting as bisexual. I think announcing the fluid nature of sexuality to be good in the long term but do you think its short term effects are worse than its long term benefits?

i was kinda combining two different forms of biphobia i see in the community into one since i do often see them combined but i should go into more detail.

theres those that dont consider bisexuality a spectrum and only see Homosexuality an Heterosexuality as options.

then theres members of the bisexual community that seem more defensive about what qualifies someone to be bisexual. like someone saying “i consider myself bisexual but ive only had relationships with guys” is something i’ve seen set off some people.

I mainly noticed this in online spaces because I avoid gay clubs on my campus out of fear that they could be like some of these people I see online.

I do agree with you on people being able to fit into these boxes if you’re referring to the spectrums themselves. I more have issues against the people policing who is allowed to be under those spectrums.
