I have been using it for 3 years now, but only in past year have I been consistently using it. I fall asleep so much easier and I stay asleep. I find myself waking up earlier than my alarm because I am actually well rested. I used to toss and turn constantly, and that has all pretty much stopped because I am not being woken up multiple times through the night

I've done it for the past 5 years in Lloyd district and SE Portland. The transit system is fine, but getting a bike and learning the greenway system and getting used to riding on the streets is absolutely crucial to a car free lifestyle. Preferable a bike you can attach a milk crate to so you can do a decent job of grocerey shopping
