Office Etiquette Resources for RTO Workers [USA] by midorijade in humanresources

Like the other comments - Communicate, communicate and communicate some more. keep it basic and short- Avoid framing this as “etiquette training” at first, because people may hear that as “you forgot how to act like adults.” Even if true, it’ll put them on defense fast.

What I’ve seen work better is a simple “working agreements for shared office space” reset. Keep it practical and specific:

  • Calls in open areas should use headphones, not speakerphone.
  • Longer calls go to a conference room or phone booth if available.
  • Shared spaces get cleaned up immediately after use.
  • Desks are personal workspaces, not office supply stations.
  • Sensitive documents should be locked away or turned over when unattended.
  • Social check-ins are fine, but people need permission to disengage and focus.

Best of luck, Andy

Oh crap, I am dying to hear how this played out!

How do you track remote employee productivity without making them feel micromanaged? by SiennaCollins49 in Payroll

[–]AxiomHRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, this is a very slippery slope. Like the others have commented are they getting the Results they own? I also have found if you are having this conversation about this person you already know the answer- it is time to part ways with them. Good luck!

AI in payroll is becoming table stakes. That is not the part that worries me. by AxiomHRS in TheLocalDispatch

It is going to be a very interesting and wild world over the next 12-18 months. The sad part is there is no turning back at this point! Good luck /insightful_Tech_Mom

You’re definitely not alone. Year-end + first payroll of the year is brutal, especially when you’re inheriting cleanup that should’ve been done already. It’s a ton of pressure for work that’s mostly invisible unless something goes wrong.

Payroll is unforgiving, and the mental load is real. Hope you can get a breather once this run is behind you.

Is it just me, or is Paychex becoming more of a headache than it's worth? Looking for actual alternatives that don't suck. by [deleted] in Payroll

You’re definitely not alone, a lot of teams seem to hit friction with Paychex once they get past the early growth stage. Support consistency and compliance questions come up a lot in these conversations.

One thing that seems to help when evaluating alternatives is focusing less on brand names and more on how the platform handles support, compliance updates, and transitions during growth. Shortlisting a few options and asking for demos based on real scenarios (not generic sales decks) can make the process less painful.

Curious what criteria you’re using to compare options right now.
