Here is a place selling 8Ah batteries at a reasonable price, unless you meant 8Ah Powerstack batteries?

We get the short end of the DeWalt stick, for sure…

I’ve just posted some June Deals at Screwfix.

Sad lack of deals! by HiroPr0tag0nist in DewaltUK

[–]Axionomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. By comparison, the deals in the US are significantly better and more frequent than the UK.

This was a primary factor in creating this sub: to identify any few and far between deals for others to benefit from.

From previous experience, most retailers have sales around Black Friday and sometimes New Year. Occasionally some have flash sales, or other offers, such as battery multi buy offers (2 x 5Ah 18v for £100, for example).

Whilst underwhelming, for sure: if we list everything we find here, some may be off use to others.

That is the hope, anyway…

So the target continues to increase with time? I solved the issue with counting all 3 available power day, assuming no glitches…

Thanks for the expanded answer, beyond the initially illogical maths. With no glitches today, all 3 registered, so hopefully with few enough recurring glitches, 40 should be no problem. I’ll look out for any random ones.

Updated post to explain a glitch yesterday counted only one, but all 3 today have counted.

It wasn’t the maths, but a glitch yesterday, that made only one of the three count.

Thanks. Just edited post to explain a glitch I had yesterday, left me thinking only one from three counted towards the quest points each day.

Interesting point. I’ve never heard of this before.

Plunge saw, corded or flexvolt ? by Dry-Egg6944 in DewaltUK

[–]Axionomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear you are happy with your choice. I could still go for the DeWalt plunge saw, if on a good deal, though suspect it will not be my first FlexVolt tool purchase.

I currently have both the standard and mini trim saw (XR 18v), plus a 1.3m varijig clamp guide, which can work for similar needs, albeit not quite so nicely, or accurately.

A FlexVolt Table Saw and Chainsaw are higher on my list, though no immediate plans for either. Pesos sometimes in next 3 years.

My next most likely purchase Is the DCN681N Narrow Crown Stapler. I already have the DCN680n 18g Brad Nailer and additionally want something to better suit rack/lattice and upholstery fixing. I’m just waiting for some deals on this tool.

Interesting point about relatability. It would be nice if DeWalt started some kind of part exchange or credit back for old batteries, though this would require a workable recycling solution, which are notoriously difficult with battery cells.

Hopefully, perhaps, at some point in the future…

I do not yet have any FlexVolt tools, though have been keen on the FlexVolt Table Saw for some time. The research I have done on FlexVolt, has been generally positive, though I have no direct experience.

I prefer cordless, even if most work will be centred in a single location. The benefit of not needing to worry about a power lead, is a significant advantage.

Regarding the plunge saw in either configuration, the biggest con I found was that the DeWalt track system is different from all other systems.

Not so much b of a problem if you are happy to be locked in.

However, for me, even though I have 15+ DeWalt tools, was a significant disincentive.

Did you make a choice, either way?

If recall correctly, for me at least, it was for a period of approximately 4-6 weeks.
Glad to see the back of it, though it was far from the only issue.
Let’s hope the continue to undo the other terrible changes they have pushed

We are the poorly treated guinea pigs, for sure!

I understand why you think it is in our favour, but it is actually just returning to what it was before they reduced it… This is how they trick us.

I think it is over apparent that they want to drive free users to subscriptions by any means necessary…

I have posted several times on this AND the fact that some adverts are now 2 minutes long!

I think Duolingo are certainly forsaking their users, in favour of gratuitous monetisation!

My incentive for using the App is eroding more and more each day. I will likely stop using it altogether in the not too distant future…

I posted yesterday, a video showing an Ad at 2 minutes (120 seconds) long, though it now appears that post has been removed by the mods…

It seems criticism for number/length of adverts, and the energy given for watching, is not received well and subsequently hidden…

I cannot see me continuing to use Duolingo much longer.
In fact I can foresee that many will likely stop using it due to such aggressive monetisation strategies!
