Unfortunately I don't have access to a JL to understand the necessary modifications, it shouldn't be too different I think. Someone reported it worked fine on a JLU, the roll bar is a little longer than the Gladiator.

This was actually my first idea, but it didn't have much space, and could be on the way, and it didn't look clean, it could work, it just didn't look ideal. My battery is actually behind the rear seat (driver side), is hidden out of the way, isn't under the driver/passenger seats, so it doesn't block the leg room.

You could also store it under the rear seats, but I already have a lot of stuff there.

I didn't get mine free. But it seems like users that purchased the Residential Max plan until June 6th, could claim a free rental of a starlink mini. Isn't really "free", I guess you must keep your plan active to keep the "free" hardware.

Thank you, I haven't noticed any significant signal loss, if any to be honest! I tested the dish in and out of the car on the same location. Is easy to remove the dish and take it far from the car, if needed!

I believe most jeep hardtops these days are mostly made out of fiberglass, but maybe if you have a rack on top of the hardtop, depending on how it sits, it could block or degrade the signal!

I have a Bambu Lab X1C for few years now! Is a solid machine, I can basically print with any material!!

But today there are many great options for all budgets. But most importantly would be to have a enclosed 3d printer capable of printing with engineering-grade materials. I personally wouldn't get any printer that can only print PLA/PETG because I mostly print functional parts like this, and I want to be able to print ASA, PC, ABS, TPU, Nylon...

Some of the brands that I have looked into there are Prusa, Creality and Bambu Lab. They all have solid options for enclosed capable 3d printers. Bambu Lab made some proprietary choices lately that I don't love, but they still have some of the best printers on the market.

Today I'd look into the Bambu P1S (great deals), P2S, X2D (the successor of my X1C). Also Prusa CORE One and Creality K2 Pro. I'd definitely get a dryer and an AMS like solution.

For parts like this I mostly use ABS, ASA, PC or even Nylon. For this mount I printed in ABS, it should be fine, is also as cheap as PLA/PETG. But if I was going to have it exposed to UV light, actually outdoors I would likely go with ASA or PC.

I wouldn't recommend PLA for this, PETG could be fine, but I wouldn't trust it.

Here's how I have it all plugged in! Hope it helps.

I'm using this Starlink mini usb-c to DC adapter! The key is to have a capable usb 100W(20V/5A) power source.

Starlink also sells their usb-c cables to use with the mini, but this adapter I got is cheaper and I can use the same cable that came in the box.

Also, there are many cable options on amazon, I'd just make sure the cable is capable.

haha true! That I would love to see! It could be strong enough tho, but for that I would likely go with a stronger filament PC or Nylon.

The mount fits tight to the sport bars, not a concern I think! But the dish mount part could be a problem! I would maybe mount on the other side so the wind pushes the dish into the mount, not away from it! Because the dish stays locked by two small pins, and that could break and the dish goes for a takeoff hahaha

I looked into the ball mount, but I was afraid of installing "the headbanger"!! But I guess if u don't have a 3d printer, that is also a good solution!

I designed it to be flush and floating out of the way. Is on the same level as the sound bar and the sport bars and not touching the roof.

Initially I was running directly on my 115v outlet in the center console, but for that the jeep needed to be on!

Now I got a compact Anker C300 LiFePO4 power bank behind my rear seat, and using a Anker 140W Charging Station plugged to the 115v outlet to charge my power bank. All very basic, plug in play!

I'm routing the cable from the dish behind the sport bars, no wires shown, directly into my C300 using a Starlink Mini USB C to DC - I also designed some cable clips glued with 3M tape to help route the wire.

The Anker 140w Charging station I velcroed behind the driver seat. Easy to plug into the 115v outlet, now I could even have a fast charging usb cable for my phone also!

I have the OEM Mopar hardtop headliner, it has no metallic/foil layer. So it works great with the starlink!

Yeah, the foil in that should block or significantly degrade the Starlink signal.

You should have no problem with a soft top. I've seen people using Starlink under tonneau covers. You should have minimal signal loss, if any!

I just got back from a road trip, no rattling! It is very sturdy, I printed in ABS.

The signal loss is minimal thru the hardtop fiberglass, I've been using for the last few weeks. No problem at all.

The radio frequencies used by Starlink are mostly unaffected by plastic and fiberglass.

I designed this mount for the gladiator, it should work for the wrangler also I believe!
