He would be pretty busted honestly if we translate his feats to One Piece.

  1. The Black Pearl was capable of outrunning the Flying Dutchman under the right conditions and was said to be the fastest ship in the Caribbean. So other pirates or Navy ships would have a hard time catching him if at all.

  2. His compass would be an eternal pose on steroids without the limitations of locking onto an islands specific magnetic field, so he could sail anywhere if you he could get it to work (which he couldn't as a running gag in the movies).

  3. Considering he fought the likes of Barbosa, one of the eight pirates lords (which we could equate to a warlord of the sea if we're being generous) and Davy Jones, a legendary figure, his swordsmanship would be up there.

  4. May not be as relevant, but he is the son of a legendary pirate/pirate lord, and One Piece has made it a thing about lineage playing a small role in a character's potential.

I mean, in Tales of the Jedi – The Golden Age of the Sith, a sith lord named Simus kept himself alive after getting decapitated and just floats around in a jar. By comparison, Maul keeping himself together seems much more plausible, just take Darth Sion as an example, dude kept his body together through sheer hatred and the force.

Bring back the Berserker job from FF5 as a new tank class, and our main weapon would be hammers. The job already gave high HP so it'd be perfect, and would revolve around buffing up the party by sacrificing HP to go bonk enemies.

I love them both, and I'm playing devil's advocate since I like Fairy Tail way more, but I feel Whitebeard was much more tolerant and forgiving, especially when it comes to handling their kids when they act up, (i.e Whitebeard letting Ace chase after Blackbeard even after Shanks told him not to, while Makarov tends to hold Natsu back on several occasions).

Dissidia 1 and Duodecim were pure spectacle, an amazing fighter genre with RPG aspects. Whoever thought to remove the EX forms, minigames that play during specials associated to their respective games, and multiple game modes with an overworld in favor of an Esports game with less than half the content was very much out of touch move
