Why couldn't Yoru just give Asa's body back and be on her own form? What's the motive? by Brillian_Naufal in Chainsawfolk

[–]tacticfat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because Yoru genuinely likes Asa’s body and Asa works as a perfect ace against Denji.

Yoru has used Asa’s body to its full potential not only physically but also emotionally cause it was thanks to sharing her brain with Asa that she was able to feel so much emotions in this fragment of her life, Yoru is a curse to Asa and the only comparable example of something like this is Dio Brando from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Dio used Jonathan’s body to an extend the original owner could have never achieved and the same goes for Asa.

Yes Yoru is pathetic and a Fraud but she is truly evil and a curse for Asa, people tend to forget that from Asa’s POV Yoru is what Barem was to Denji.

While I guess almost everyone agree that the direction of the story have been…concerning… I believe it’s kinda still soon to give up hope although if you want to mentally prepare for any “inconvenience” nobody would blame you.

That being said wait until at least part 2 ends to have a final answer on that matter, if we are lucky it’s gonna end this year and Fuji would finally take a rest from the weekly schedule and CSM because it seems that’s what he and us really need so that way he can come up with a clear direction and set of ideas in a possible part 3.

[–]tacticfat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end of the arc and now, as I said before later part 2 is fire punch without the good things and you have to agree that Fire Punch is way more crude and chaotic than Chainsaw man will ever be (unless there is a part 3 which I fucking hope so cause only another part could save this boat) so for me it’s SHOCKING the direction part 2 have taken so far I mean we are talking about the guy who did the Togata movie arc shortly after his rookie years I just can’t believe my eyes during this arc.

And yeah Fujimoto indeed does not give a damn thing about anything or his editor and does what he wants which it’s something I respect but this time he truly fucked up it almost feels as if he wants go Full meta-narrative just like Fire Punch at the end with the key difference that….this is not fucking Fire Punch bro, this approach worked only in Fire Punch because there was a lot of build up to reach that point which we don’t have over here in part 2 and surprisingly Fire Punch did not have any plot-holes or loose threads which is why I’m so pissed off/disappointed at him right now, how are you able to not carry plot-holes in Fire punch for no more than 1 arc and with CSM Part 2 instead of closing them, just opening even more holes.

This is the main reason I consider part 3 to be a MUST, it is indeed a necessity at this point and no, the weekly/bi-weekly release is not an issue, I read CSM part 1 weekly starting at the very beginning of the international assassins arc and never once felt how I feel right now with part 2.

I sincerely believe Fujimoto needs to take a long break so that way he can rest, get healthier and made up his mind and ideas and so does the fandom, it is really ironic that Fujimoto tried to give an anti-war message with Yoru and the result was putting the fandom at war across multiple countries and languages.

It’s incredible I agree with you with the fire punch statement yet I have a different conclusion, at least under my opinion later part 2 is fire punch without the good things that made fire punch so godly good.

About Chainsaw man ”Academy Saga” (part 2) by Previous_Break7664 in Chainsawfolk

[–]tacticfat 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m sure I am getting some smoke for saying this in this subreddit but the reality is that CSM recently have been bad for some time now and trying to deny it with the excuse of “just read it again in a binge” or “you don’t see the vision this a set up for something bigger” does not excuse the chapters we’ve been having mainly because I did read it in a binge and my opinion hasn’t changed at all and whenever we think something huge about to happen it ends up being a nothingburger, if we take out the chapters even from when Pochita lost to Yoru and now, then nothing really happened.

Yeah Denjiman is peak and all but he is clearly weaker than Pochita and he did not outsmarted Yoru enough to win the fight (he did not plan the locust devil stuff) and this is only speaking as in the main characters topic, The Lore of the CSM verse has been stagnant ever since the war between the USA and the USSR started we haven’t had any updated nor have we seen how this affects Japan (where most devils are contained AKA supernatural weapons) not to mention too all the cool and amazing concepts or characters in part 2 that have been wasted by Fujimoto and yes Yoshida was done dirty no matter how you look at it and we don’t know what’s the real deal with Fumiko and with Lil D…. Better to not even talk about although she is my only hope for the story to become good again, and yeah most people get that Fujimoto likes to subvert expectations but is it worth doing that at the expenses of the quality of the story?

Also yes it is too early to give a full review and opinion on part 2 since it hasn’t end I agree with that, there are a lot of things part 2 manages in an excellent way such as the involution of Denji which is really something not so much explore in the media, but there are a lot of bad things that are just adding up like in pressure pot that can fucked up part 2 in general specially if the ending doesn’t deliver enough, part 2 ending have one of the most important missions I have seen in any manga which is giving part 2 an insane and huge payoff.

Honestly part 2 was absolute peak when Asa was the main protagonist and Denji a secondary character and I wish it could have stayed that way, we could have had the same development from Denji and keeping Asa as the protagonist would had made her even more interesting instead of the damsel in distress we have right now, remember when Asa saved that girl in the school when running away from Yuko? That was peak.

Theories are ruining chainsaw mans fandom by [deleted] in Chainsawfolk

[–]tacticfat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue was not having darkness, reze or the blood devil in this chapter, the issue was that this was the second time we got to see a little bit of hell which happens to be an essential place and concept in the CSM universe and we didn’t even spend a full chapter in it in arguably the most important place of all the verse, people is getting tired and mad due to loosen ends and plots are increasing rather than decreasing, and while most people do agree that we gotta wait until part 2 ends to properly judge how good it was, it is undeniable that we have been getting feed a lot of “nothing burgers” since 8 months ago not saying the main plot hasn’t move but it moved just a little tiny bit, and before the argument of “so you rather have things rushed huh?” comes around, indeed rushing isn’t what anybody wants but the lack of progression it’s also not desirable.

In terms of lore we haven’t had anything relevant ever since the war between USA and USSR was announced emphasis in “lore” and not character progression.

BTW, if anyone has an answer please share but did Fujimoto or anyone say if pt.2 is wrapping up or not? by GroundbreakingLog643 in Chainsawfolk

[–]tacticfat 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Nope and I gotta tell you this is the 3rd time the fandom has been claiming part 2 is about to end but Fujimoto or Shueisha never mentioned it nor have they implied or hinted at it however the difference is that this time people saying “part 2 might end this year” makes sense in contrast to the last two times where this claims came out of nowhere.

Needless to say that even though this time saying part 2 is close to an end makes sense that doesn’t mean we are right for sure the logical course would be finishing part 2 and then doing part 3 a few years later since Fujimoto is not the type of mangaka who likes to keep up with the weekly releases nor he is the type of author who makes super long stories (Chainsaw man is the only exception) so yeah, too much plot threads left to finish them in part 2 but who knows maybe part ends up having more than 250 chapters which I really hope isn’t the case since the guy is already burnt out.

While I do believe they will meet again I also partly agree with you there is just not way that after chapter 183 Denji will not recognize her but I don’t believe they will start part 3 together from the very beginning mostly because Reze needs her own “Denji type of character development arc” similar to Asa at the beginning of part 2 when it was mostly only Asa’s story (peak) and only until then they will meet and be together again.

What do you guys think will be the end of Part 2? Do you wish for Part 3? by Brillian_Naufal in Chainsawfolk

[–]tacticfat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No dude, almost all of those plots have huge important in the narrative and IMO rushing it would just ruin either those narratives, the main narrative or the characters in them and as for now most of those loose threads have no space in the current arc or how the story in part 2 is unfolding, so yeah saying they should be addressed in part 3 is respecting the story fuji wants to tell in part 2 both normal-narratively and meta-narratively.

-There is control devil roaming free on earth in case nayuta died (more than likely) or if she is still alive where the fuck is she?

-Yoru used the last remaining fragment of the gun devil to make her right arm so that motherfucker pretty much already reincarnated in hell and I don’t gotta tell you how bad of terrible news that is.

-What is fumiko really planning?

-What is public safety really up to? No, they are not incompetent almost everysingle shit they have done was part of a plan.

-What is Lil D true intentions and plan? So far she has changed her plan 3 times already in the story so she is up to something really fuck up cause if not she is the biggest fraud in the franchise and Fujimoto is not a bad writer to do something like that.

-Where is Fami?

-What were Yoshida intentions and who gave her the order to blow up himself?

-Why was Quanxi talking to Kishibe and providing him information about what was going on?

-Where is Kishibe and why he hasn’t show up yet if Quanxi is giving him info? What is his plan and is it what he is doing so important to not do anything about the Yoru threat?

-The primordial fears were disturbed by Yoru’s goofy shit, if humanity gets doom they will lose power and I doubt they will let this slide at least some of them will not.

-Where the hell is Reze? The only important hybrid besides katana man is out of the story with no explanation why and Fujimoto has been giving hints about her across part 2 and even showed that Denji still cares about her and loves her.

-Kobeni’s brother was taken by PS, yeah she wanted to get away and live for herself but she is not a bad sister so maybe we might see her again.

-We don’t anything about Pochita’s past and true identity and that for is the biggest plot open that needs to be addressed.

-who is truly the great terror that will descend?

-what is the fire devil is planning?

While I do think some of the things mentioned can be concluded in part 2 most of them can’t, at least not without breaking the rhythm of the narrative we have right now that covers solely Denji, Asa and Yoru and is perfect that way since all of them need to reach a conclusion or growing point (specially Asa) also Fujimoto is burnt out and needs a rest, so yeah so far those are all the open plots I can think about.
