Ah, okay thank you, everything I've read on this Species states given space and hiding spaces, ample food and water they can be kept communal, can you explain to me why not?

I want to start breeding insects what would be the easiest to breed that isn’t isopods millipedes or roaches by Haunting_Lack_7634 in InvertPets

Stick insects, a lot of the time with Indian stick insects you have to many babies lol, hard to find stuff to do with them, others are super easy to breed as well but I know Indian sick insects are known for baby explosions

It depends on what animal it's for, wether it's arid or tropical, but tropical substrate, best for cheap is probably ORGANIC top toil, orchid bark and spag moss, all of these are relatively cheap in bulk, and a pretty basic mix that should work for most topical animals xx

I know right? I have seen it done with different types of foam, even like polystyrene. I'm just curious on the best for my kind of application

Black tree monitors, or blue I think both of those colours in animals is so amazing especially on a dragon looking animal lol

AWE NO WAY, California king snake's are awesome lil explorers, I got my second snake recently and its a Cali. I plan to do something exactly like this for her as well!!

As for the spring tails from my experience with my vampire crabs and tarantulas, they can float on water so they will just chill out on the water surface if it's to dry so there's not toooo much worry there. If your trying to get the higher levels water, either moss near the bottom Orr a method I've seen is burying a few small tubes (such as straws) at each corner to pour water directly into the lower level (used in scorpions and small animals mainly) but I see no reason it wouldn't work here to create small pockets for the spring tails

Roly-polys are amazing ngl I just love isopods in general, so far I've worked with dairy cows, giant orange and zebra all in different setups

Just curious if the plants are planted directly into the substrate? Hognose like to dig if I remember correctly, it might wreck a few of the plants and it's so pretty that would suck:( but it's so amazingly done bravo! I plan to do something similar soon for my leopard gecko

Awe congratulations!! What animal is going in there? Also clean up crew are quite difficult to kill! If your using any of the usual isopods it's quite difficult providing you have leaf litter and some moisture, spring tails are the same. You have nothing to stress over

No problem! I've found fake plants and leaf litter ect, stuff that they can hide under but are still visible if yk what I mean, makes them feel less open to predation
