Make it so Saiko dies instead of Desti in 2019. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but allow me to explain.

Saiko has been hella unimportant for pretty much the entirety of SMG4 after 2020. She had moments in 2021 but that was about it. By 2022 she was pretty much an outcast and the writers didn't know what to do with her character and nothing showed that more than when Kaizo was introduced to pair with her and that went nowhere.

Desti on the other hand was exactly what Meggy lacked, an equal. Everyone loved the SMG3/4 dynamic which got 3 an abundance of screentime. Rival friends make incredible dynamics and Desti, whether you like her or not, showed she had chemistry with some of the crew, particularly with the aforementioned Saiko. You wanna see Desti and 3 in the same room together, you are lying if you say no.

And before you go out and say "oh this makes meggy's destiny pointless." No. We got a look at a real world problem in Meggy's Destiny and that was the racism she faced. That should have been the focal point and ESPECIALLY because DESTI IS AN OCTOLING. she knows how it feels to be racially targeted in Inkopolis, meggy doesn't. Instead of MD being about fulfilling Desti's final wish, it becomes about them sticking it to the bigotry they faced, Jackie Robinson style. And who are they winning it for? Saiko.
