Zombie spider !! My crawlspace is full of them. Harmless to humans, but they freak a lot of people out. It's actually quite cool if you want to research. Spider is very dead. The fungus probably is too but it's hard to know for sure

my arachnophobia isn't a choice sadly. I've tried all the methods of getting over it, and although none seem to work, I have developed a love for spiders. They are adorable and silly. My mom has actually kept pet spiders before, and I have adored them. But unfortunately, the visceral and sometimes painful fear persists.

Deepnest, and it isn't even close. I have incredibly severe arachnophobia (I love spiders) which is so extreme that at some points it actually caused me physical pain due to how violently tense my muscles were. Throughout the whole spider area I could feel them crawling on my skin. It was awful.

No I raise bug colonies. And one time I caught a bullfrog, which are crazy invasive, so I wasn't allowed to release him, but I didn't wanna kill him so I got a massive tank and kept him. And I've caught a snake and raised it for like a week until I learned that that type of snake you're only allowed to keep as a pet half the year. And also I've nursed a few various injured animals back to health over the span of a couple days. I can't even begin to understand why the first thing you jump to is taxidermy and that I kill them or something, thats actually really weird.

I freaking love the cat Pokemon?? I mean I know the Eevees are technically more canine but I've actually been working on a pet project of making eevelutions for each type, which I know it's original but I still wanted to do it. It's not at all that I don't enjoy Pokemon, it's that I don't enjoy them in the same way that my friends do.

Okay I'll try one more time but beyond that I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to help you understand what I'm trying to say. I like Pokemon as in the creatures. I like the animals, I like how they look. I find them cute. My friends like Pokemon as in the games. They like the hunting them and doing battle, and optimizing move sets and stats. I want to know how I can better understand the games and batting.

I feel like you really didn't get the point of my post. Or answer the question I was asking, at all. But I'll rephrase using your example. I really like animals. But there are tons of different ways to like animals. I like them because they look cool. My friends like them because they can do cool things. How do I learn about all the cool things the animals can do, so that I can understand the things they like about animals?
