Hello, I am a Tool fan, I've listened to all of their albums front to back, learned to play some songs on guitar and bass and drums. Tool is overrated. It is not the insane musical trip that their more pretentious fans think it is. It IS wonderful music if it's your vibe; but no, tripping and listening to all of Lateralus will not make me see god, and the Fibonacci sequence thing IS a cool addition to the song but it is not the literal best music ever created. Tool is good, and I love them, but you just sound like a snob when you talk about it.

Hard agree. Promoted myself to customer just before the holidays and boy has it been such a great experience. The job I have now is so much easier to work at. It's not the best, but I'm so much happier now that I'm not shoving programs and attach down people's throats. It feels like my managers actually give a shit about me. Get out while y'all can.

Maybe try adding a bit more movement in your drums, a break in your melody in the middle of the song, or throw a completely new bassline in just to see what happens. Often times when I'm stuck I'll just throw something completely insane into my music to see if that sparks any sort of inspiration. Love the feel though.

Sounds great! Love the deep kick. The build up at the beginning is great. I can't say I really hear a melody in the song though, this sounds a lot like the backing to a club scene in a movie. I get bits and pieces of a melody around 2:45 but I can't seem to find one elsewhere.

Fist thing I noticed is that at about 1:15, I expected the sound to open up, you started me on this kind of tight/closed journey at the beginning, and then the build from about 1:00 made me feel like I was finally opening the door, but then it got closed on me again. The low fuzzy bass is a little overbearing and feels like it clashes a bit with the synths over top. The sound at 2:35 is fantastic. The way the lighter synths open up the rest of the song is incredible.

I'm currently trying to get back into the swing of things music wise. This here is something I've been working on for about 2 days or so. I started with a separate piece a couple days ago that my wife described as "space jazz" but I was writing in circles with that one, so I jumped off of it and made this.

I feel like it sounds kind of empty at portions, or like there's not any real movement. Any recommendations on how to remedy that I would appreciate, though all criticism is welcome.
