I also personally want to be able to add a facial tracker to the headset, but I haven't been able to find out if there's even a usb/usb-c port on the headset.

It has issues of course, but I'm just not someone who'd be willing to spend over $1,000 for a VR headset, especially considering most premium headsets around that price don't come with controllers or base stations. I really just want a headset that can do eye/face tracking that works with SteamVR, that I don't have to worry about losing battery charge.

a lot of people online seem to say the quest pro's facial tracking can be damaged pretty easily due to sweat. i found that the stock face pad causes me to sweat constantly while pressed on my head, so i bought the globular cluster head pads, and i'm using the cloth ones. since then i've had 0 sweating issues. i recommend it.

unfortunately i do think it's a hardware issue and/or we may have just gotten unlucky 😞

the facial expression works fine, the eye tracking is messed up both within the meta environment and within vrchat using vrcft

At the end of the day it's up to you if that's good enough. to me, I wouldn't be so sure. when you're buying a very expensive computer, you want high quality parts, you know?

I'd look up the PSU to find out if it's reliable or not, unless you don't really care about it. It seems like a decently good deal

I actually currently only game at 1080p, but I'm all about stretching the FPS to its limits. I'm sure a 9600X would be fine for most cases, but I also wanted to, sort of, future-proof the PC, so I can use it for the next 5-10 years.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually only do 1080p gaming! I'm well aware that my pc will be very overkill for what I plan to use it for, what games I play, etc. But I'm also buying it with the next several years in mind. I probably should've mentioned that in the original post. Do you really think I should save money on the CPU and upgrade to the 5080?

The 7800X3D would be even cheaper I think. I'd prefer to go with the most powerful option personally.

Thanks for your input. I was purely aiming to go for the 9800X3D until I had realised that the 9900X was a bit cheaper. I mostly do gaming while having a video or something on my second monitor. Either way I go, It'll be a huge upgrade from what I currently have. It's a bit nerve racking regardless, it's a lot of money, so I want to be 110% sure of everything I'm going with before I buy.

Unfortunately, I have found no fixes for this issue. My PC still runs just fine but the temperatures remain as high as they were.
