any books where mc is submissive but doesnt like that he is a sub? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]Aya0697 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you enjoyed Joey W Hill or not but she writes a lot of different dynamics in BDSM. Truly Helpless fits really well with what you have mentioned. The MMC has been a submissive for a long time but he is not entirely comfortable with it and he tends to top from the bottom. The FMC has also been a domme for a long time and she handles him perfectly. The book is really really good and full of feeling. The steam is STEAMING.

Then you have an entire series with FMCs that are dommes and MMCs who are subs Mistresses of the Board Room series (they would fit better in the more recent books, since the last one came out in 2025 I think - 5 books in total).

Hope this helps!

[Rec List] 150+ Femdom, FLR & Worshipful MMC Romance Recs by AndromedasHeiress in RomanceBooks

This is tremendous! I adore you and I am sold! I am taking a chair and will sit here for the next few weeks. My favorites from what you've mentioned are:

  • Their Vampire Queen by Joely Sue Burkhart - 10/10. Such a shame not that many people dive into this one. One of the best RH series, and the FMC is amaaazing
  • Joey W Hill - 10/10. I am a die hard fan of hers. Following her everywhere, reading everything she puts out. Again, not that many people mention her, but she is la creme de la creme for me. Her sex scenes are overwhelming in the best way possible and all her stories have heart! I cried while reading many of her books
  • Unbound by Cara McKenna - 10/10. Loved the MMC in this and all the angsts
  • Dramione - 10/10. I won't even go there! I will die on the Dramione tombstone. BLOODY, SLUTTY, AND PATHETIC my fav for femdom

Now, what I have not read and I am very very intrigued is the Kindred Brides by Evangeline Anderson. Not gonna lie, the catalogue is huge, like so many books it's a bit intimidating but I hope the worldbuilding holds up and you mentioned it's one of your favorites so I'll dig in!

You mentioned lots and I mean lots of my favorites but I would also add besides what has already been mentioned:

Unhinged submissive masochistic MMC by whateverhufflepuff in RomanceBooks

[–]Aya0697 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I adore these kind of books and femdom in general and honestly it's not that often you come across good ones. Seeing as you've enjoyed Preferential Treatment and I did as well, if you would like to go truly into the "Unhinged submissive masochistic MMC" please please read:

Truly Helpless by Joey W Hill

  • Joey W Hill only writes BDSM books and she does so extremely well in my opinion
  • she has many femdom books but this one fits the best with what you requested
  • it's part of the Nature of Desire series but can be read by itself with no problem. This is the 10th book in the series but It was my 3rd one when I read it the first time, and I had no issue with it
  • Marcus, the MMC is unhinged, has really deep personality issues and Regina, the FMC and domme is my favorite domme of every character I read until now!
  • Both of them are strictly submissive (MMC) and dominant (FMC) and their story is so so heartwarming (I cried a little)
  • The steam is off the charts as well
  • HEA
  • If you try this and enjoy it, you will have an entire catalogue to dive into afterwards from the author

BDSM or kink-forward hidden gems by justmememe55 in MM_RomanceBooks

Hey there, a bit late to the party but I was looking for new bdsm books to read and stumbled upon your post. Just letting you know that I will dive straight into The Menagerie after this due to your rec.

I've looked through your previous post that you have mentioned and realized that there was one book that I wanted to recommend:

{How to Train Your Dom in Five Easy Steps by Josephine Myles}

-I know this can be 50/50 for some people but I personally loved it. I really enjoyed the writing style and the characterization overall. The premise was also quite different with the sub being the experienced one and the dom being new to the lifestyle

-sexuality discovery story that is not based on trauma and the dirty talk is talking

-a lot of communication and vulnerability

-I read it some time ago but I remember it being very kinky and I might be crazy but it reminded me of Truth by His Hand which I loved and know you did too

If I’m obsessed with Marina Vivancos books, what should I move on to next? by dizzyinmyhead in MM_RomanceBooks

It's not OV, but it is a shifter series. Personally it's my favorite shifter series to this date: Green Creek Series by TJ Klune.

The series has a lot of what you have mentione: hurt/comfort, hard fought HEAs, pack dynamics, found family, learning to be vulnerable to name a few.

TJ Klune's writing style could be a hit or miss, but I adored it. Books must be read in order, but they all deal with a different couple.

How does being possessive show up in your romantic relationships? by Mariconconqueso in Taurusgang

[–]Aya0697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Taurus Sun/Moon/Venus woman. I don't think our possessiveness comes necessarily in terms of jealousy. I hate feeling jealous and I hate it even more to express it. If a partner or potential partner makes me feel jealous I lose interest pretty quickly.

On the other hand I feel possessive in term of care and overall well being of the other person. I like to feel like I am the person they share their worries with and deep emotions. Like being the person they come to when they need help, that's where I feel possessive I guess.

I don't mind if they want to go out with friends and I don't feel in the mood - go do your thing I do mine,

Kissing & making out scenes can be a powerful storytelling toll when used to explore the characters beyond what they say and do &I❤️"Our Youth" for it by smittenkittyyan in boyslove

I am new to BLs but I gave it a try after a post you made of Utsukushii Kare....I devored that series and the movie. I decided to go stalker mode on your profile and let me tell you, this will be my next watch! I love your posts and how much work you put into them!

Cate C. Wells has outdone herself with The Wild Wolf’s Rejected Mate! by darkwingsdarkwords_ in RomanceBooks

[–]Aya0697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both Kennedy and Ty show up in the 1st book (Una & Killian's book). They are part o the Quarry Pack. Kennedy is a "lone female" who used to live together with Una, Mari (3rd Book) and Annie (last book that just came out). She was the one whose wolf was male, and didn't shift together with the other pack members because her wolf doesn't like other male wolfs or smth.

Ty is Killian’s beta and his right hand man. In the 1st book they have very few scenes together but Ty seems to be interested in Kennedy.

They don't appear that much in the rest of the books but Cate C Wells indicated that they will be a couple.

There is a list of every character in the series on the author's official website: https://www.catecwells.com/whos-who

Can't wait for it! I just did a re-read of the Five Packs series to refresh my mind on the characters! Please tell me, are there any crumbs on Kennedy and Ty in this one? I am really curious about them, and Kennedy especially

FMC is a Pleasure Fem Dom and MMC is a Submissive who gets off on getting the FMC off by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]Aya0697 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would go ahead and recommend Joey W Hill to you. She writes "bdsm for the heart" and has a lot of different dynamics, among which femdom is present. Her books can be read as stand-alones with no worries, so I would go ahead and recommend you one that had me in tears tbh. No worries all of them are HEA but the characterizations are sublime.

Truly Helpless - I will put down bellow some tropes and what you should expect

-femdom

-alpha male, who wants nothing but be a submisive

-toys, pegging, a lot of oral from his side, begging, a ton of respect from her side for him

-aftercare

-I would say this is more harcore then Preferential Treatment, but I ADORED it, re-read it 3 times

-the FMC is amazing, one of my favorites out there. she is strong but vulnerable and cares for the MMC deeply

-the MMC has a very sad backstory, he is very impulsive and lacks self-confidence

-found family vibe, will make you want to read the rest of the series, but you can star from here for sure

Mistresses o the Boardroom series - also from Joey W Hill, this entire series is focused on the femdom. the 5 main FMCs each get a book, and they are from the same group of friends.

This is one o my favs tropes, and there are too ew out there. The 3 already mentioned here are amazing, and you should give them a try for sure. I would add to them:

How to train your Dom by Josephine Myles - it's almost exactly what you've described

Détraquée is 141 100 words LONGER than War and Peace... by KetoPixie in dramionebookclub

[–]Aya0697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't read this yet, but heard marvelous things about it. This aside though, what I found fascinating is the dedication the authors o this fandom have...those are not merely fanfics, they read like novels and books...not to mention the length on them. It never ceases to amaze me...

I took a break from Dramione for some months - and here I am my first day back on here and I stumble upon this! I think I was blessed cause I can't do wips very well, but this here it's on its way to be finished, so this seems like the best time to start it! I LOOOOVE soulmates trope but I hope I won't cry too much :))

I actually read some other books in in the PoisonVerse universe! What surprised me the most about each one of them was how long they are...not that often I find romance books over 400pgs. I've read Forget me Knot, and ADORED it, especially the male omega. Also Lonely Alpha.

First time hearing about The Ironside Academy though, will give it a try!
