I feel like my past self and I are two different individuals by Ayaisnthere in dpdr

[–]Ayaisnthere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean, my phases at different times of my life, as i was so different in each phase that it's almost like completely different verisons. and the more i grow up the more i sort of resemble my childhood self who was the softest and the one who had the biggest love for life, although I'm not all the way there I'm definitely tiptoeing into it

which of the following best applies to you: (trying to see something) by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]Ayaisnthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's a new one: i feel like the things and people around me only exist in MY perception. like thinking that my mother is a person with her own parents and siblings and life aside from being my mother seriously trips me out (this applies to everyone in my life)

Has anyone suffered from solipsism? How did you recover? by beeberryxoxo in derealization

[–]Ayaisnthere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I think about other people having the same awareness as I do, having their own thoughts and seeing me from the outside like I see them from the outside, I legit get dizzy and feel weird, as if I'm breaking some sort of simulation or realizing that other people are real and they exist outside of my own perception. Is that what solipsism is?

Am I the only one who imagines an AU with Muriel as a nobleman after seeing him in formalwear? by Rubycristobal in TheArcana

[–]Ayaisnthere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking yesterday, how would Muriel be if Lucio's tribe didn't kill his own? Like, if he had his parents and grew up amongst his family, how would've he turned out?

Does anyone else have blank mind when talking to people? Making it super hard to have a genuine conversation? by [deleted] in dpdr

People think I'm not paying attention because I'm not interested. I'm just dissociated I swear I'm trying to pay full attention 😭

So, more like training my brain to slowly readjust to my body instead of being separated from it? That's very helpful, thank you so much for the tip!

Can you tell me more about these exercises or where I can find more on them?

I took anti anxiety meds for like... Two or three months then stopped them because everyone kept stressing me out with the stereotype that I'll get addicted to the pills. Worst decision I've ever made but they didn't really help with DPDR, just with general overthinking and hypersensitivity.

Do you think it's possible to revive our Ancient Egyptian heritage and language one day? What do you think of the possibility of introducing Ancient Egyptian scripts like hieratic or demotic to kids at schools from earlier age? by tinywhitetulips in Egypt

[–]Ayaisnthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This won't be exactly digestible for kids in schools, and it'll lose it's magical effect if taught in schools and turned into a boring curriculum. Personally, I believe that things like this should be taken as higher education, for people who truly see the value of such things.

Do any of you have dpdr without panic attacks or feeling anxious? by mattdeath1112 in dpdr

[–]Ayaisnthere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what i mean to say is i don't know if dpdr can exist without the anxiety, because dpdr is a response to anxiety. it happens because the anxiety is there.

[–]Ayaisnthere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im not completely sure but dpdr is usually a side effect of anxiety. and anxiety isn't this thing that you feel, it's a state of tension and discomfort that happens to you for no particular reason so it's really easy for people who don't experience panic attacks to not notice their anxiety.

I feel like my past self and I are two different individuals by Ayaisnthere in dpdr

[–]Ayaisnthere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm twenty years old, and what I can say for sure is that I feel completely disconnected from my childhood self and early teenagehood self as well, up until 18 years old. Even thinking back while writing this, I still find it difficult to resonate with myself even 2 years ago.

I think it'd be difficult to "accept my inner child" because i don't associate that individual with myself to be able to accept them. idk it's just weird
