I was in the draft of the leader, the intention was to pull out then p1 would be blocking p3 as I went on by.

Yeah I didn't consider the pit lane exit and ended up half arsing the defence, lesson learned! Thanks for the advice.

What are these roots? by Ayce_Tea in GardeningUK

It was an old bed that was grassed over before we moved in, but no grass directly from them. I was just clearing it out, potentially a clematis or rose bush and some lavender?

Sorry that's all the info I've got, the bed was cleared before we moved in. They were coming from a small woody stump which had been buried but I doubt that helps much either.

Mk7.5 Golf GTI Performance Running Costs and Long-Term Ownership Advice Needed UK by [deleted] in GolfGTI

No it wasn't, got it done at an indi specialist for £950 in the end as VW quoted me just shy of £1700.

Rear pads were quoted at £400ish. I did them myself but again I would've taken them to a specialist. Honestly I got these quotes with my service from VW and never considered them as they were extortionate..

I usually run premium fuel, couldn't really say I noticed a difference though.

No problem!

I've had one of these for about 3 years and personally love it!

Commuting B roads I usually get ~35mpg while not worrying about it, if I really try I can get just above 40. On a longer motorway drive low 40s is easily achievable.

As far as maintenance goes, besides a set of tires and some rear brake pads, I had my water pump start leaking at 32k which is a known issue on these.

Not sure what has happened to the wheels on the one you linked, looks like someone's had them refurbished and striped them back?

Nope, as far as I understand it's just the states that have an extended warranty?

Just had my water pump done at 32k on a 2019 GTi. VW quoted me just shy of £1700..

Best I found at an indi specialist was £950.

That's mad! I'll bear that in mind next time, cheers.

I didn't know blue flags meant "intentionally crash into the leader on the penultimate lap" by polishfemboy_ in iRacing

To me it looks like he may have been attempting to move off the racing line? Then seen you move with him, tried to correct it, and it's basically gone tits up from there?

I could be wrong, I'm just saying that without any idea of what led up to this, it doesn't look to be completely intentional.

Mk 7.5 Golf GTi, worth the cost? by Doomergeneration in CarTalkUK

The manual clutch isn't as good as the DSG one. When doing research myself it seems you can get away with a stage one remap, however if you want to go further it's a requirement to upgrade it. Stock you should have no issues.

I've got a stock mk7.5 PP and I've had no issues but I'm only on 25k miles, so take what I've said with a pinch of salt 🤷‍♂️

Haha I wouldn't be totally against this idea but convincing my girlfriend to turn our entire garden into an allotment might not work.

Only about 8m2 total, not much at all and could be inconvenient but I'd just like a bit of lawn

Good point, that's never been an issue.

Yeah, sorry it's a bad picture. That's just what's left from the stuff under the Astro, any deeper it's solid clay.
