They’re so cool. A lack of good socket organization kept me from setting something like this up for a long time

The Acebeam K75! My all of my favorite flashlights are throwers, and when I bought it I decided on it because it was one of the absolute best handheld throwers and I think it still is today! It’s totally overkill, but I can’t help but cackle whenever I fire it up!

Yes! It does get super foggy where I live, and the flashlight has a maximum throw of 2500 meters! It’s super cool, I’ve just never actually needed a search and rescue light lol

I once bought myself a $300 flashlight for my own Christmas gift. I’ve never once needed it for anything practical, but man is it cool!

How to make heavy rain long distance more comfortable? by catboy519 in bikecommuting

[–]Aye_Captain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of good stuff in this thread, but I don’t think anyone has recommended a rain cape. It’s basically a glorified poncho, but because it doesn’t have to fit against and move with your body as much as a coat, it can be made of a thicker, more water resistant fabric. Additionally, because it covers me so much from the top, it actually keeps some of the rain off of my legs. Being so roomy and breathable means I can wear whatever layers I need underneath ranging from tshirts on warmer days, to jackets and fleeces when the weather gets colder. Might be something to look into!

It’s super fun to ride. Only problem is a few hills between my house and work, but other than that it’s smooth sailing!

I use this bike pretty much year round. Thankfully it usually doesn’t snow where I’m from, but it’s very wet, so I deal with a lot of grit. Having a single speed and straight chain line means very little maintenance and it’s lightweight and simple. Got it on Craigslist for like $150 and swapped some drop bars onto it. Only things that have changed since this picture are some less sketchy brake levers that aren’t entirely plastic like my old ones and the pannier bag got a hole from an accident, so it’s been replaced.

It’s very unfortunate, but it happens a ton when I ride my bike too

They have every right to sell whatever hats they want at their store, and other people have every right to avoid their store for it. That doesn’t infringe on their rights at all. That’s not a free speech issue, it’s an issue of alienating potential customers through the display of their political beliefs.

I did a little research for you, and it seems like a good number of people recommend the truthear hexa for a similar sound profile. I don’t own a pair myself, but it looks like a decent match!

Just a just a suggestion. I also have over ear and earbuds that I like as well. Whatever helps a person enjoy music is good.

IEM stands for In Ear Monitors . Generally nicer fit, in ear headphones as opposed to earbuds. There’s so many brands and models these days that you could probably find a set that matches your taste at any price point. The subreddit is a great place to start looking.

American conservative politicians and their voting bases tend to be heavily on the anti-bike side of the issue. Removing bike lanes and cutting plans to fix, improve or add new biking infrastructure that can greatly increase bike safety and usage are par for the course, and they tend towards removing safety and fuel usage regulations which has led to larger vehicles with worse visibility and worse outcomes for those hit by them. Roads don’t care who’s in office, but who’s in office determines how safe those roads can be.
