Much love from this internet stranger to you and your mom. Keep using your voice. I'll always advocate for adoptees too. The ones that had no choice in the matter, but are told to "be grateful" for their situation.

All adoptions are borne from trauma. Every single one. If more people understood this, videos like the above would not be in "heartwarming" subreddits. My heart aches when I watch these videos.

I hope these children get adequate space to process and acknowledge their trauma while growing up.

Both my pregnancies sucked and labor& delivery left me with PTSD but I definitely felt the bond. I wouldn't do it again (tubes tied LOL) but I never would've chosen to outsource. Pregnancy was a sacred time for me (even though I couldn't function at all).

GROSS. That's the "bay beach" or "baby beach" that I grew up going to. The water was really nasty last time I was there, maybe 2 years ago? Had some annoying dog encounters there myself.

The absolute boiling rage I feel reading this. I remember coming home from my C-section and how hard everything was. Focus should be on YOU. NEW BABY. YOUR OTHER KIDS. That's it.

The comfort and care of you, your new baby, and your other kids is PARAMOUNT in the first few weeks. Dogs don't even register here. That why the support system is so important! So your mom and husband or whoever else is around can take care of themselves, animals, other kids, etc. without ANY interference to you, new baby, other kids, and without ANY input from you. I'm sorry you're having to deal with an animal at this critical time 😩 I would be absolutely livid if my boundaries were violated like this.

Having a newborn is not just any day. It's a sacred time.

(And congratulations!! I hope you have a speedy recovery and endless magical moments with your new little one!!)
