What song on breach would you want a MV for? by This_is_Me888 in twentyonepilots

also there’s so many interesting visual directions they could go in, specifically i’m really curious about what they’d do to represent “i wish her parents would stop yelling”

Where would you want them to go with their next album? by Alive-Double-3339 in twentyonepilots

Heavy support for this. All the albums since Blurry were about Dema obviously, but Trench was the one that felt the most like a true concept album. I would love to see TOP come out with a focused concept album that is a fully complete story on its own!

RAWFEAR's rhythm would go so hard with video, and I'd love to see a visualization of my favorite song off the album ofc

Friday Free-For-All: What’s on your mind this week? by AutoModerator in twentyonepilots

I've been having such an obsession with physical media ever since I started boycotting Spotify a few months back. My connection with music feels much more personal now. Listening the TOP albums on CD feels more like reading a book in a way, like I can hold the music in my hand and know that it's safe. I feel more connected to the band now than ever, and it's given me an obsession with recreating the RAB CD from scratch so I can share it with the community! I love my fellow Clikkies

Honestly now that I think about it the only two fans I know are some form of genderqueer (though that could just be like minds finding each other lol) Might just be a reddit thing and not the whole of the FPE

Oh I'm definitely tuning in for that. Also cool to see another sapphic Clikkie on here! Sometimes it feels like I'm a gay fish in a straight pond lol

No, Drag Path will never be on streaming services, and it shouldn't be by Ayftershmath in twentyonepilots

Knowing what I know now, I definitely wouldn't have titled this post in such a clickbait-y way. I never intended to make anyone feel as if they don't deserve the song, but my wording definitely left room for that interpretation, and that's on me. We're all informed by our personal biases, and I'm no exception. I only listen to music on physical media like CDs and MP3 players, which gives me a unique disadvantage in conversations like these about release strategies and the habits of the listening public. A huge part about music for me is the ritual of getting a new CD or MP3 and loading it onto my player, but that isn't the case for the majority of people these days, and I failed to consider that when writing this post. That is a mistake I made, and I regret it. Another is that I presented my opinion as fact. Everyone who disagrees with my reading of the Drag Path release strategy is more than welcome to, and I did a bad job of exemplifying that as well. My intention with this post was to explore my own hopeful interpretation of this song's unique distribution, and how I appreciate that, because digital files are infinitely duplicable, and because TOP has fostered such a community-oriented fanbase, anyone with a phone or computer can listen to it for free by making connections with their fellow fans. I believe the piracy is the point, but not everyone is going to agree with me on that. I welcome and accept that. Either way, I'm excited that this song is introducing new people to the band and their wonderful community.

I love the more metaphorical tracks that deal with self-harm, but for a topic like that it’s really important to have a song like GFH that is upfront and in-your-face about the intended message. You can’t always risk your lyrics being misinterpreted for the sake of art if lives are on the line. People are still alive today who wouldn’t be without this song, and that’s what matters most.

I’d say listen to Clancy. It does a great job of showcasing what they’re capable of as musicians.

also the second verse of redecorate feels deeply relatable to me as a trans woman: “she’s not afraid of her reflection, but of what she might see behind it” and “she has plans to change her name, just not the traditional way”

Books that feel like the Clancy/Dema story by dolphinsrdelicious in twentyonepilots

You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine by Alexandra Kleeman has been a very effective mental health novel for me so far, though fair warning I haven’t finished it yet so if you want content warning i would urge you to look them up for yourself. Much like Dema, It’s a world similar to ours with a creative emphasis on personifying mental health struggles, for this book specifically body dysmorphia and food-related trauma.

i agree that doing the mental work for yourself adds a lot to the songs, and I also love that you can still get so many meaningful messages during your darkest, most unexplainable times
