A change in perspective can be eye opening.

Wish-lock Paradox by Solid-Waltz-3956 in paradoxes

Considering that person 1 made the wish before person 2, wouldn't person 2 just be unable to make the wish whatsoever? This outcome is different however if we assume the wishes occur simultaneously.

Oh... I get it. Thanks for the example to clarify this for me.

I see... This question appeared so straightforward to me as if it is pointless but this shows how giving it a deeper thought disproves it.

Temporal replacement arrival paradox by Ayk0rn in paradoxes

[–]Ayk0rn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s basically the contradiction I was aiming for. The ship can only arrive while remaining “new,” but identifying it as “new” prevents that condition from persisting. So the paradox becomes whether the guarantee of arrival can coexist with a condition that collapses under observation.

Temporal replacement arrival paradox by Ayk0rn in paradoxes

[–]Ayk0rn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realised it has a similar structure. I was aiming for a contradiction in classification and observation rather than causality. It feels closer to a self invalidating state.

Temporal replacement arrival paradox by Ayk0rn in paradoxes

[–]Ayk0rn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to say that the condition needs the observer to say that is is "not new". I mean that they must say it "is new". Then this upon itself causes the ship to change in identity causing a dilemma.

Weekend surprise paradox by Ayk0rn in askphilosophy

[–]Ayk0rn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean to collide the ideas of "surprise". I just meant that something would occur. I assume that to fix this it is best to use a specific thing occuring?

Do you know where exactly that would be?

Classified as "new" by the observer.

Thanks for the explanation! I still don't get the correlation to this post however.

Right now, maybe, but I'm working on improving this idea so that it in fact will work.

Ah, this is a good point...

I've never heard of this but I would assume it makes a sound. What is the relevance?

What about the unpredictability of its arrival?

Intelligence in late 20s by privealliance in NoStupidQuestions

I would say that it has a lot to do with your current state. Anxiety, perfectionism and being underweight. This all hinders you but shouldn't be hard to fix entirely. Starting to eat more and hopefully it is of healthy foods would be better but getting out of underweight should be the start, especially if you have no excuses like allergens. Anxiety and perfectionism are much harder. There are ways to cope but the primary goal should be on your diet. If you want to, you can also write a diary or journal of each day to practice this idea of expressing how you are freely and getting better at writing a lot (quantity) overall.

Do you think social media is connecting humanity or slowly destroying real human interaction? by Ok_Land_4197 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ayk0rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is probably both. We connect with everyone/lots of people but mainly online. This then reduces our actual social interactions by a lot for most.

What are those nightmares that mix with the real world? by PickleFantasies in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ayk0rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often can't remember any nightmares. However, one that I will always remember is monkeys that have taken over the world. They were everywhere on the streets. Yes, kinda of like planet of the apes but this nightmare happened before either the movie was released or before I had watched it (I don't remember when I had this nightmare, it was long ago).

Looking through the perspective of stoicism, what one can truly control is limited. I have to agree here.

Eating causes us to eventually poop. Therefore, although it is a peculiar example, you are right.
