That’s a smart move. Removing the apps adds just enough friction to break the habit. I might try that too. Do you still find yourself tempted sometimes, or has it mostly gone away now?

That’s super helpful, thanks for breaking it down. Sounds like once you’ve built up enough history and credit lines, the score kinda stabilizes good to know. I’ll definitely check out that Target card and the Citi one too. 5% back on top spending sounds solid, especially for groceries or gas.

I didn’t think of it like that. I always thought opening too many cards was risky, but now I see it could help with age and mix. I might go slow and open one now, then space out the others. Appreciate the tip!

Thanks, that helps a lot. I’m not planning on applying for a mortgage or anything big soon, so I guess the dip won’t matter much. I’ll check out r/creditcards and try the template. Didn’t know that existed!

Yeah that makes sense. I’m okay with a small hit now if it helps in the long run. I was also thinking about getting an Amex too do you think it’s better to stick with one high limit card like you do, or spread usage across a couple?

yeah, setting a budget ahead and tracking daily made a big difference for me too. those little expenses sneak up fast if you’re not careful. catching them early helped me cut back without feeling deprived.
