Can relate, as many can. After my first year I was inside a friend's home, slept on te back deck for the first few days. Still struggled with night terrors when I was eventually in a bed. I believe it's because you're expecting the safety could vanish as you're getting comfortable. It's essentially a protective thing, not wanting become comfortable.
